Hi, I'd LOVE to have Chord Memory for live keyboard play of Major AND Minor chords.

Now there's no way to play live D / A / EM / A chords with Chord Memory. You only get major chords...

In lots of softsynths you can play auto minor chords by pressing half tone down, so for EM chord you press D# Note & E Note TOGETHER.

Thanks. :)

Separate amount settings per tone in each control destinatio

Post by cyclops »

I can't get it really. Why on pages Control 1 thru Control 4 you can only set one amount setting per destination and only set on/off status for each tone? I recall that in previous workstations there were separate amounts per destination and per tone. So if I want to set for instance: modulation->LFO1->pitch, I cannot set the amounts per tone like this: +20 +17 -52 +34. The only thing I can do is set one global amount for tones 1~>4 (e.g. +25) and only to set (with on/off switches) which tones will respond to this amount, normally or inverted. This is really weird, because with my 15-year old XP50, with only 3 control sources instead of 4, even with source 1 hardwired to Modulation, I can achieve some more flexible modulation matrix. This is simply because each source has 4 destinations and each destination delivers separate amounts per tone. This has to be fixed asap.

Can't you play your own chords and save them int he chord memory? I don't own an fg yet but thats the impression I got reading other threads, in that case you can play any chord with chord memory??

I don't know if I put this wish here already but...

**Slower LFOs!**

The slowest tempo based is now 2/1 bars...
Say I want to make an filter sweep that is 16 bars long... can't do it...

With the Waldorf Blofeld I the slowest LFO is 64 bars

And I think I also mentioned I want shuffle on the tempo based LFOs!

My main wishlist

Post by fismoll7 »

Here are my main wishes:

1) A new double insert FX (Leslie, and distortion) with a better leslie-simulation than at the moment

2) Possibility to store an load multisample and swap them beetween projects

3) Store Controllers with a patch and a live set (S1, S2 and D-Beam)

4) Possibility to copy a live-Set into a studio set

5) Possibility to copy an Patch in to a live set (with all FX)

6) More than 3 octave transpose in a live set. Sometimes I need the highest note on the lowest key :-)

7) New Livesets with useful Controllersetting. Especially D-Beam

slow filter sweeps

Post by shakil »

Hi jessej

With Fantom-G's MIDI phrase based sequencer, we can have a lot of fun with controller modulation....

Create a MIDI phrase that has only filter cutoff controller message... draw controller sweeps as you like, as long as you need on any DAW... and then just import that into Fantom-G as MIDI phrase... then use that on any track to affect the sound you want............ If you use SONAR, there is a great MIDI plugin MIDIFlo... It can create all the LFOs you need using MIDI controller messages....

This will also enable us to apply 'swing' to the LFO.

Yes that is a workaround in ways of automation in studio mode shakil.

I think the slow sweep should be a part of the patch itself thou... when one has many patches in use and synced in live mode, it becomes more important... automation is not available in live mode.

I think it should be a part of the patch itself.

Automatically duplicating phrases when they're being used on

Post by cyclops »

Another one about the sequencer:
When editing a new song, having inserted already recorded pjrases, trying to edit them while they're already being used on other songs, the Fantom-G could pop up a warning in order for the user to choose to duplicate the phrase and insert the new one to the new song. This could prove very useful, in order not to mess other songs with edits of the phrases they depend on. I think it's rather easy to implement.

This would need the increasing the number of phrases per project. We could use something like 5000 or so.

Why limit it at all? Just add folders and subfolders for easier management.

That would be superb, although I don't know if the FG OS supports something like that.

If you open a .prj folder, it does have subfolders. So it must support it.

Also, it is 2009, subfolders is not "something like that", it's just so common that there must be support for it. If not, Roland should add support for subfolders.

I'm sure we both agree on that. If they finally add support for subfolders, maybe we'll have access to all FG's folders/subfolders. Then we can finally have cut/copy/paste single sounds/phrases/samples etc from/to projects, from within the FG OS that is.

Project folder(s) date and time stamped

Project folders should be date and time stamped from the time of the most recent save / save as, not always saved as Feb 2008.

Chop Samples With Mouse

Post by needlz_ »

It would be awesome if you could chop samples with the mouse. Seems like that's doable. Would make it similar to Recycle...
