Re: New Fantom G Video
This video accurately illustrates why I love the G so much. Just last night I was working on a pseudo-reproduction of JMJ's Ethnicolor 1 - just me, the G and the moonlight. No external sequencer, no external effects... Just synth heaven.
Of course, I'll be transferring all my work to Cubase soon, for final mixing, but producing a working demo has never been easier - particularly when it sounds this good.

Undercoverman, It would be interesting to see you describe the process of how you transfer the tracks from the Fantom G to Cubase for the final mixing. (in another thread, perhaps?
)
It would also be interesting to hear you share some thoughts on if you transfer with or without effects, mastering processor, reverbs etc. What do you do on the Fantom G and what do you leave for postprocessing in the DAW and why.

Re: New Fantom G Video
It would be great to have an email contact adress to ask two or three patch questions. Found none so far, and even Roland France seems not to be too aware of this talented demo guy...
Re: New Fantom G Video
Google came up with this page:
http://vince.milles.free.fr/pages/basse ... basse.html
at the end you see the info....

Re: New Fantom G Video
wow- I am impressed. They should have him do more demos.
Re: New Fantom G Video
Thanks Anton, useful link.
I asked for the patches used in the video in English and French and look forward to a possible answer. If it comes, I tell you all...
The French text tells he is a bass player who had learned a bit piano in his childhood and learned much as an autodidact later, becoming a multi-instrumentalist with skills for arranging etc...

Hello,
I'm new in this forum but you know me
I'm jf Untrau, the démonstrator of this vidéo.
Sorry, my english is very very bad but, i will try
In the first time, I would like to say thank you very much for yours comments about this demo. It is a pleasure for me.
A friend spoke to me about this topic and i see you have some quetions. I will try to answer.
All sounds you hear in this demo are Factory présets. Never custom samples. Only voices samples is added.
But my secret, i like to work on mix.
About the Wurly sound, it's a factory preset incuded in the Fantom-G.
Do you want to know which number ? SECRET !!!
No, i'm joking
just Prst 143 Trem Wurly. My favorite Wurly sound in the Fantom factory presets.
To make this guitars sounds, it's very easy. I use:
Gtr.amp.Sim----Stéréo Delay 01 ----Stéréo Delay 02----Reverb----Mastering.
All effects in sérial mode.
For bass sampling, it's very easy because the Fantom-G automatically resample (pitch) your sampled note.
You juste have to sample one note. (in this démo it's a C)
Take a Initialized patch and put your sample in the patch. (for exemple, tone 1).
It work very well with a bass.
You can, like the sound in the demo, make a multi layered sample to have more expressive sound.
But the slap bass sound on the last song is also the Factory preset.
Well, i think i answered some questions.
if you have other questions, maybe i can help you.
Bye

Re: New Fantom G Video
Jean Francois, merci beaucoup pour venir ici!
We all liked your video very much: you have a very vivid, musical approach and seem to feel comfortably home in different styles of music.
Thanks for answering the patch question. The Wurly example has once more shown me, that the secret of good sounds lies 50% in the context you hear them in, and that arranging seems to be just as important as playing the single instruments.
I liked the G Wurlys a lot more than the the old Fantom X ones, but after using the Scarbee Wurly, sounding really 1:1 (with multilayer-dynamics) in my sequencer software, I still listened a bit critically to workstation Wurlys. Your example showed me how well useable what we already have on the G sounds in context.
Thanks again for coming by here, and keep on making good music! Perhaps more Fantom G demos as well?
Best regards from Germany
