Where is that sound coming from?

Post by Mandragora »

I have installed version 2 software onto my V-synth, and there is something that has been nagging me for some time. On some patches, even when both oscillators are turned completely off, there is still a wave playing (for those of you who have v2. an example of this is patch 452). Does this only happen with drum percussion sounds? Where is the V-synth grabbing this sound from? It confuses me because the knobs for both oscillators effect the patch, as does the d-beam and the time trip pad.

Can someone clarify???

When does this happen? On some modified preset patch or on a clean initialized patch?

it happens on a lot of the preset patches that came with v2. i didn't notice it with v1, although i didn't really explore v1.
the trend is mostly with factory preset drum kit patches, and happens on some of the synth patches as well.
is it possible to locate the sample and change it, as you can do with the oscillators?
it is odd because osc 1 and 2 are assigned to either a pcm or an analog, which are obviously changeable, yet the 'mystery' wave is nowhere to be found? On the drum patches that I am talking of, the mystery wave is the main part of the present, and often times when you turn down osc 1 and 2 completely, the sound is changed only slightly, yet still going.

Weird

Do you mean drum kit patches? If so, you can see that in MENU -> Zone, there are up to 16 zones per patch. To edit a zone, simply hold down shift and press a key, you will switch to that zone not leaving the screen you're currently seeing, and zone number at the top right corner of the screen will change accordingly.

Hi Mandragora, on the 1.5 version Dusted Loop is just the same, switch off OSC 1 and OSC 2 and it keeps on playing some of the sounds and is at first confusing, but just a matter of Zones as Artemio has indicated. A you dial into each zone then that patch becomes accessible.

Have Fun :-)

zones

hi, i still don´t get it.

i tried to make a patch with 2 zones, beginning with an init patch.
i can specify 2 zones but i can´t select the sounds for each zone.

the manual says ...
"touch ok and you will return to patch play screen" ....then
"zone01 is selected, specify the sound you want to play in zone 01"

where do i specify this sound??? can someone give me a better explaination?
