you will need to buy it..
even if you could download it, it would not work.
becasue it checks the media it is being installed from as copy protection and will give card error if you try..

Your gona have to part with a bit of cash to get it... ;)

Before rushing into the store try to find out if Roland ins't updating free in your country. I thought I would have to buy OS2 but I ended having it (and a copy of the manual) for fee

Hi peashooter, sorry but your absolutely incorrect. The upgrade uses some kind of media check , Ive tried it myself and I got an invalid card error. Nathan was super nice and donated the files to me. Maybe however it may work if you have the same brand and model of the card roland uses , but still this is just in theory. However be carefull because if you tamper with those files and try to upgrade you can render your fantom useless. My advice is look around and see if you can get the upgrade for free if not then just purchase it.

Gear list: Roland Fantom-X8,Korg MicroKorg,Ibanez Prestige RG2570EX Guitar,BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone Pedal,Peavey Backstage Practice Amp,Mesa Boogie Nomad 100,Alesis M1 MK2 Active Sound Monitors,Dual 1.8Ghz Powermac G5 6GB RAM, Reason2.5 , Arturia Moog Modular v2,Cubase SX2,Garageband, just got a PODXT its sick I like it alot.

The easiest way to get it free, and I realised after I got mine back, is that any Fantom's that have the original Motherboard with the "Patch Freeze" problems or others associated with the main board will have it replaced and given the V2.0 as FREE.

i sent my fantom x6 in for freezing up to roland us.they sent it back to me but i didnt get any free upgrade.they just sent it back to me with another v2 motherboard in it.it doesnt freeze up any more .how critical is the new version 3 motherboard ?i know that the latest motherboard revision three has some improved specs, but roland us tries to deny that it even exists.talking to those people sometimes is like pulling teeth.i bought the version two softrware myself from roland but since installation and after many factory resets,i still cant the new audio samples to load automatically at start up.and if i manually load them one by one the new demo song still wont play them.any suggestions? any help would be appreciated.ive given up on talking to roland they talk down to you, and gaenerally make you feel stupid. and if you point that the question you are calling about is not in the manual they just get kind of pissed and wont answer the question.
