This page on a site for the Motif has a lot of explanations of the abbreviations - could it be Lead Synth?

Hmmm, good thought...but neither that rich smooth strings patch, or the lucid chorus one, is a lead sound or in the synth category. I was thinking it may have been the sound designer's name, like ST would be Scott Tibbs, for example. Or MW would be a hint to check out the mod wheel on the particular patch.
LS. . . hmmm. Thanks for the link too, Dave!
