Roland TR-09
Anyone know if Roland plans on re-releasing the TR-09? They are starting to climb in price in the used market.
Re: Roland TR-09
I don't know - but at the same time (and completely unqualified with zero insight), I personally don't think they will.
The original marketing concept behind the Boutique range was that they'd be on limited production runs - kind of implying that they too, will become collectible at some point.
Of course, it's entirely Roland's prerogative here but I think that's it ;-)
My local store now only has the D-05, the TB-03 and the SH-01A in stock as well as the SE-02.
Everything else has gone.

I figured as much. I wonder how the RD909 is going to stack up.

TR-09's are still available new from Guitar Center, and possibly other retailers for the original $399 price. Currently showing "In Stock and Ready to Ship". Are we sure they are not still in production? Roland just released some software to help their Serato co-produced DJ gear sync with TR drum machines...hellnegative1 wrote:Anyone know if Roland plans on re-releasing the TR-09? Per a sales rep from Zzounds, they are no longer able to get the TR-09 from Roland.jicamasalad wrote:TR-09's are still available new from Guitar Center, and possibly other retailers for the original $399 price. I just checked GC and GC Pro. Neither have new TR-09's for sale. Currently, the only listings from Guitar Center are used models.

Re: Roland TR-09
To be honest, it's worth saving and getting the TR-8s - it does what the TR-09 does x 100 for less than twice the price...
I bought a TR-08, then thought about the TR-09 but was seduced by the TR-8 - then found the lack of stored patterns limiting, and went for a TR-8s - the money is worth it for user samples alone imo.

/\ totally agree - if you need a fully fledged competent, cutting edge drum machine in your workflow, the TR-8 and 8s are better value than the Boutique drum machines.
If, like me, you just want to own something which offers an authentic user experience matching the original icons, whilst looking a bit like them too, then the Boutique drum machines are better for this purpose in my opinion.

Agree with you too, I'd have loved a TR-09 to sit alongside my TR-08, playing the kick of the '08 under the kick of the '09 and gradually adding / decreasing the sub on the '08 would be a thing of beauty.iixorb wrote:/\ totally agree - if you need a fully fledged competent, cutting edge drum machine in your workflow, the TR-8 and 8s are better value than the Boutique drum machines.

Also having 08 open hats one side at say L40/09 open hats on the other at say R40 and closed hats for both somewhere in between, excellent together imo.
Same for the rims on both, I love both together, spread left and right.
And the snares on both, close together, say L10 and R10...

I managed to find a TR-09 on Amazon (Japan) a few weeks ago. There are still a few in stock:

Don’t know if they ship outside of Japan.
