FA06 Sequencer /Arpeggiator question /MIDI

Post by junos2013 »

Hello , if i have a song consisting of 16 midi tracks and then use an arpeggiated bass on track 1 for example , can i then record a synth part on track 2 that uses the arpeggiator as well
or is the fa-06
limited to one arpeggiator pattern per song / 16 tracks?
Can i also use Another keyboard to Control the fa , but get Those notes recorded in the fa:s sequencer?

I also have a question regarding sound quality for all the FA users , how is the sound quality compared to for example the juno stage , on the stage you tend to get distortion when the volume is turned to over 50%
does this problems also exist on the FA or does it have better converters?
On the juno stage i find it to be lacking when it comes to bass response getting a really fat sound , is this depending on the somewhat dated sound Engine , does the FA have a "punchier" sound in general or does it use the same converters as Soniccell/Fantom X etc?

Best regards

You can, every tracks records each note in the arp model, even in loop recording mode =)

I can't tell about comparing a FA and a Juno, but I have huge volume sound on live =)

I just got mine so I'll try to answer what I can:

You can record a different arpeggiation on each track. You set up the arp pattern to what you want, and record into the sequence. Once you've recorded a sound with arp on it, you can set up a new arp pattern and record on a different track with the different arp. However, you can't change the recorded arp pattern without re-recording the track. It's like the arpeggiator is "playing the notes for you" and what the sequencer "hears" at the time is what gets recorded.

One thing you can't do however is save a studio set with a different arpeggiator pattern on each of the 16 parts. Even in Split mode, you can't have one arp pattern on the lower part and a different one on the upper part - it can only be on or off for either part, but whichever pattern is selected affects any part whose arp switch is on in Split, Dual, or Studio Set mode, which again will play the same arp pattern for any part with the switch on.

If someone knows differently, I'd like to know!

The notes, yes, not the tones.

For example, you could use an external keyboard sending to channel 1 to play the notes C, D, E and those would get recorded on Track 1 Part 1. They would play back whatever sound FROM THE FA is assigned to Part 1.

But you can't record the "sounds" of the other synthesizer into the sequencer (I don't think that's what you were asking but just in case).
