I must say some of the sounds are absolutely breathtaking. They p^%$ all over the SRX boards.
Thanks Solitary man! Great you got them working.
+/- 240 downloads till now.
Thank you for the donations, Solitary man and bluesplayer!
If you like the sound set please donate (even if it's 1 Euro). Remember a pizza costs you more and is gone and forgotten after 10 minutes.
It's a pleasure donating for such great work to keep my Fantom XR "new" and breathing. It's the work by people like you, Joeri, that helps all of us. 240 +/- and only two donations? I know times are tight but they aren't that tight.
Thanks for your gift & feedback. Every euro is appreciated.
Another 90 downloads...
Making fantomas was a lot of work.
I cannot estimate how many evenings, weekends, days, weeks I spent in my spare time.
You have to multi-sample a sound, edit it (noise reduction when necessary, normalize, create a seamless loop with lots of replays till it's 'nearly' perfect, cut unnecessary parts, normalize,...).
Afterwards you need to map the samples across the keyboard, convert it to Akai format, convert it again with Yase, so a lot of steps need to be done for each sample.
Mostly I needed to adjust the end & beginning of the sampleloop on the Fantom itself with -2 samples because of conversion issues.
The Polymoog Keyboard 280A (Vox Humana, string 1 & String 2 multisamples) are unique as these are samples from a reconditioned polymoog from Leo Gelderland from Holland who was so kind to let me sample this beautiful beast.
It's a 1978 synth and very very unreliable these days! I also drove 300 km that day just to get these sounds but it was worth it.
After and during the sampling the programming can start, sometimes from scratch, sometimes using a preset to create a patch.
As you will know some sounds are programmed in 15 minutes and another sound can take an entire evening or more till you decide to delete it.
The idea was to release it commercially but as I suffer from a 'small' neck hernia I was not able to create a full 256 Program bank so I decided to release this "130" set for free.
I wanted to make it available for everyone. If it's worth 1 Euro to someone because you are out of work that's OK, if you are using the sounds on 'commercial' projects it's fair you donate more.
I was wrong. If people can get them for free they will not donate.
