Anyone know if you can save your PAN/Volume Levels within the ARX-01 card? As of now you can not save a song with the changes you make unless you save it as a new kit.

Thanks alot,

I can only load 10-15 samples at a time....Takes about 15 mins. Sometimes I think the board is in a frozen loop. I tried loading 300 samples once before, and I let it load for about 2 hours before turning it off. When I turned it back on, it had loaded about 110 of them. Is this normal? Deleting them also has the same effect. Perhaps the update fixed this?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi, I've read this thread with interest as I've started using my Roland Fantom G in earnest and have mysteriously lost all my data after saving a project - I simply saved as, shut the Roland down, and returned the next day to find everything had gone. It appears this may be fixed with 1.31 - let's hope so...

My latest problem happened when trying to re-sample my midi tracks so I can export them to a Mac running Snow Leopard 10.6. I have seven tracks to re-sample, and 500MB (more than enough) of Roland recommended memory using V1.3. When trying to re-sample there are *no* other samples in memory - only midi data and *one* song. I re-sample the midi data and see and play the sample which is 18.2MB, however when I attempt to save I get a "Memory Full" message. This is a known issue reported on this forum and elsewhere:

http://forums.rolandclan.info/?action=show_thread&threa...

On the face of it and after reading this thread, this "Memory Full" problem doesn't seem to be fixed by 1.31. Has anyone else experienced problems of this kind and know of a fix or workaround?

Thanks,

Mike

Well, I just loaded up the new OS, and programmed a simple phrase with time sig changes. 1st measure was 4/4, measure 2 was 3/4, next was 4/4, and so on. In microscope more, it all remains in 4/4. No changes. And yes, I did type in my time changes from the "Beat Track" menu. So what am I missing?

Hi Firstlovedan!

In the 'Phrase Edit' mode, you have to choose Phrase Beat[F6] to assign an individual time signature to each phrase that is recorded in something other than common time(4/4). You can then save phrase with it's own time signature.

Hope that helps!

OK, I see that now, but does that mean that you can only adjust the time sig for the entire phrase? So I can't have 2 measures of 4/4, and then 1 measure of something different? I guess that means I have to make a different phrase for each time sig change. This is great for waltz stuff, but programming something like "All You Need Is Love" will be tough, unless I am still missing something. Thanks for the help though.

Well . . . You could . . . 2 measures of 4/4 and 1 measure of 3/8 could be stored as 1 measure of 19/8 time, as the 'Numerator' value goes up to '32'! =)

Sorry to go back to the Phrase and Sample problem but I have been having this grief and I started a thread on it.......I never thought the sync output would be the cause of this.

This is my thread

http://forums.rolandclan.info/index.php?action=show_thr...

I was maybe attributing it to the USB Audio input and output. Seems I was barking up the wrong tree. Ive not installed 1.31 yet but will do so this evening and see if I still get the rogue phrases.

Im must stress so far I have not had any samples missing.

Well, I suppose the question is, did you have the MIDI Sync Output set to ON?

If you did and your data is failing to load properly - the random INIT PHRASE, INIT SAMPLE, etc, problem - then it may well be that this bug is responsible. If not, it's likely to have some other cause.

Only one way to test that, though. Try loading the project several times with Sync Output set to ON and note the results. Then try loading the project several times with Sync Output set to OFF and compare the results.

On my Fantom-G, I found that projects loaded with random INITs around 80% of the times I tried it when the Sync Output was ON. But there were no instances of that problem at all when Sync Output was OFF.

And actually I'm talking about two separate machines here because Roland UK sent me a replacement FG when the problem could not be rectified initially and the link to Sync Output was not recognised.

Not everyone appears to have this problem, but it's hard to say whether that's simply because they haven't tried to replicate the Sync Output test. It's a setting that many users may never even touch.

Hey there comradec.Im glad I wasn't the only one having this problem. The lack of responses to my thread led me to believe I may have been on my own with this.

My output sync is ON...... I shall do what you said and try it with and without.I need the sync on though because I'm using my Fantom as a master keyboard for my rig.I have installed 1.31 now so I shall do a few tests and see what happens and then come back here .

I suppose it's the nature of the file system. Before on the X you didn't have all these little files being stored and loaded in all the time, for samples yes but not for midi data as well.

You can have Sync Output on; you just can't leave it on.

This means you have to switch it off before you power down the FG and before you attempt to load a project.

Bloody annoying it is too.

Hi mates,

Should I really do FACTORY RESET after updating to OS 1.31?

Thank you! :)

I usually perform a factory reset before and after the update.
Of course, before doing anything, you must backup your internal project.
