Sample Chop

Post by yungxcraven »

Im getting a glitch when chopping a sample on my X6. Issue is, when I have it chopped how i want I hit create and it asks if i want to create a drum kit. I hit yes select my track and hit create. At this point it freezes and wont send my chopped sample to the key or pad.

I did an auto chop and the samples were easily sent via rhythm set to my keys. BUT when i manually take the time to chop the sample right where i want it and hit create to rhythm set it freezes every time HELP!! could my midi cables create this problem or is it the fine chop points??

Have you updated to the latest OS available? It's 1.09 for Fantom-S, and 1.07 (without audio expansion) or 2.10 for Fantom-X.

yeah i installed 2.10 on my x6 but it still didnt fix the problem.
Starting to wonder if a midi setting is causing it.

SOLVED

Instead of sending the chopped sample directly to the keys or pads. Go to sample list, mark set chopped samples you want, hit utility, create rhythm set and it works fine.

Artemiy have you ever experienced this issue..? It happened to me and for some reason the it allows you to rotate the dial to adjust the settings of one of the chops..is there a setting to fix this?

I chop samples like that all the time without any problem. Usually, if you think it's due to a midi issue, it usually is. I often find that even if I can't think of the problem counciously, it seems that my unconcious usually has something bubbling up. Try unplugging all midi cables and doing it like that. If you still have the problem, type out a step by step list of exactly what you are doing, and I'll try to recreate it on my FX.
