Why did you all buy this Synth? Wasn't there any information about those missing features before?
By the way, I think, it's pure marketing: they will release updates from time to time including features like sample import. These 'new' features, which should have been there from beginning, are going to heat up emotions again for the GT and keep the selling price high. Why should they sell a feature-completed machine from first day, when people buy it anyway?
But don't expect them to implement all the goodies you are currently waiting for in the next updates. They won't. They need some candy for the next model.
I've got the V-Synth 2.0 two years ago, compared it to the GT later, and was disappointed. Definitely overpriced.

Though I have no idea about the product development process of roland, it seems more like a development resource problem than a marketing issue. They've released the software far early, before planned features are complete. Probably development team of V-Synth is moved to another project so no one is working on VGT's software.
