Fantoms Best Hammond B3 sounds ever!! FREE
Re: Fantoms Best Hammond B3 sounds ever!! FREE
The RPS also changes the drawbar settings.
For me the problem with splits and B4Real is that it uses so many parts to create the B3 sounds it is a little hard to separate the elements you want on the right side from those you want on the left side. Also, a lot of B3 settings that I use have Chorus or Vibrato just on the upper keyboard and you cant just apply it to those notes hit in the right side unless you have mapped out the right and left hand parts separately.
Instead, when I want to split the organ I just put a B3 Organ patch on one part and assign that to just the left side and then use B4Real under my right hand alone. This is done by setting Keyboard Range as V-CeeOh suggested.

Thanks for your reply Howard.
Where do I get a B3 organ patch from? Is this on SRX-7?
If only I could save a performance as a patch, I'd be laughing.

V-CeeOh, fantastic! that's brilliant. I didn't know that you could do that. Thanks for your help.

MikeO, there are lots of organ patches on the Fantom X although there are certainly more on SRX07. Just go through the organ onboard organ patches and see if you like any of them before you go out and get the 07. I dont think you need it just for left hand comping.
You could also tweak the patches a little and shut off the velocity sensing so it will play more like an organ.

would someone be able to sample just the Leakage waveform that is used. I have converted this over for the Sonic Cell but I don't have a leakage waveform (and would like to find an alternative to use).
B4real for Sonic Cell?
Question: somewhere else on the forum, I read a post which stated (or suggested) that B4real can also be used on the Sonic Cell.
Is this indeed the case?
And if so, how should I import the B4real into my Sonic Cell?
Thanks in advance for reading/replying.

Got it, question solved!
Re: Fantoms Best Hammond B3 sounds ever!! FREE
Is there a trick or any issues when using the B4Real with a Fantom XR? I don't have the pads, but I do have 8 faders on my Edirol PCRM80 controller...
Thing is, I see the presets in my performance bank (on the card) but each performance sounds identical. The joystick does turn the rotary off and on, but that's about it... When I cycle through each performance preset, I just hear the same organ sound.
Help?
Dave

There's nobody with a Fantom XR using B4real?
Or did this thread just completely die on me...

Re: Fantoms Best Hammond B3 sounds ever!! FREE
As I did not really manage to play Hammond organ on my Fantom X-6 i a realistic way I just bought a Nord Electro II for organ and e-piano sounds.
I hope it will arrive soon. I think that together they will do a great job.

RRabbi,
The presets should have different levels for each performance part (to correspond to each drawbar).
As for using your controller to emulate the drawbars- the way to do it would be do somehow transmit the keyboard on all channels- but assign the each fader to a corresponding channels level (fader1= channel 1 volume, fader 2= channel 2 volume). I was going to try this with my X-station but haven't got around to seeing if it would work (the trick is you can't just have the keyboard set to omni as moving channel 1 volume would adjust all 16 channels).

my controller does have 8 faders that I can assign a different MIDI channel to each. I'd then assign the volume CC controller to each one. So, that shouldn't be a problem. I think I can also toggle OMNI mode off and on...
I'll try it tonite

Ok, figured something out. My midi keyboard controller apparently can only transmit on one MIDI channel at once! It's a limitation of the keyboard, and I found this out be reading a review of the PCR-M80 online, where a fellow stated that he couldn't use any multi-timbral patches with his outboard synth (no zoning).
That explains why I only heard one sound (basically drawbar 1) no matter what performance preset I chose.
What I did was go into the Fantom X Editor and each ever patch of the performance to receive on MIDI channel #1 and so now I'm hearing the presets as they were meant to be heard.
very, VERY nice!!! I love how it defaults to using my sustain/hold pedal to turn the modulation/leslie off and on. Really intuitive.
Does anyone know what CC# would be assigned for the volume of each performance patch, i.e. 1 thru 16? If I knew the controller number, I could assign my 8 faders plus some knobs to give me a little bit more control over the performances.
i.e. it would let me modify the performances in real time by being able to move the "drawbars" around or turn percussion/click/leagage up or down...
Maybe those aren't even controller numbers (CC), but rather some other type of function I can assign using the Edirol editor?
I'm glad I'm sortof figuring this out...
