controlling external keyboard

Thanks to some helpful videos i was able to create a scene from scratch and have 123 internal and 4 playing an extrenal Yamaha Yc61.
However I discovered that may other factory scenes were also transmitting to my YC.... Why is that?

Most boards if you simply plug a 5 pin midi cable will automatically control the 2nd board as long as midi channels are the same.
Upon diging into those scenes they did not have any zones set on external....Why can it control the 2nd board?

Is this happening with scenes with no lit zones? Or with scenes where the selected zone is not lit?

Maybe it would help share which scene you are using, and maybe also uploading the exported scene to make it easier for users of the big Fantom. What exactly are the effects on the external keyboards? Are you talking about program changes or note on/off events?
