Thanks.
Finally, did not went for it... but I guess that there is a good news: Roland launching the new Juno-D today with kinda same audio-engine but... with class compliant audio-midi interface.
Will this be incorporated to the Fantom-0 series?
Gigging with Fantom 0 series
Re: Gigging with Fantom 0 series
The Juno-D is not the first device with Zen-Core engine and with USB class-compliant audio. The MC-101 and MC-707 also have it. I guess that the class-compliant audio interface is related to the hardware, and can not be easily added to the Fantom-0 with a firmware update. I guess that the components of the Juno-D are actually closer to the MC-101/707 than they are to the Fantom-0.
The Juno-D has a few other interesting features that could be easily added to the Fantom-0. For example, being able to override the tone MFX in the scene part. I am not optimistic that we see such changes for the Fantom-0, because I think we are beyond the point where new features are added.
Re: Gigging with Fantom 0 series
Well, the MC101 and MC707 were launched without class compliant audio/midi interface. That was added in OS updates, so that is the reason that I would like to believe that this is still possible in Fantom/ Fantom-0. In the other hand, $300 Yamaha arrangers have that... it's incredible powerful to have all with 1 cable... audio, power, midi and multiple sound engines in a tiny/cheap device (I insist, I am using an iphone7 or Ipad air 2 having 10 years in the market!)xp30 wrote: ↑08:03, 26 September 2024The Juno-D is not the first device with Zen-Core engine and with USB class-compliant audio. Re: Gigging with Fantom 0 series
Im a bit late on this conversation but My new rig now includes a Fantom 06 bottom and Yamaha YC on top.
YC local board I only use for organ sounds. Piano sounds are also from YC but are triggered by zone one of the Fantom.
i then have 7 other zones loaded with strings. pads and other tones I can easily layer on with a push of a button
or turning the slighter up. I use the Fantom mostly as a controller but really like the syth and pads which Roland is know for.
I put thi through a Radial Keylargo keyboard mixer with FOH XLR and 1/4 monitor to my QSC K12.2 monitor.
I am in the process of controlling all patches using the Luminite FX Graviton M1 feeding a CME 3x3 midi router.
Jam band ....Phish, Goose, Dead string cheese, spafford

It's my run out the door gigging keyboard. Lightweight and powerful. I continue to underestimate it's ability to get the job down.
