Hi,
when recording piano pattern, sustain pedal is cutting length of tones (and sometimes is sustain not recorded at all) , and sometimes works well. And I dont not what is difference. Anybody knows, what setting is wrong? Maybe tone or zone or pedal setting.. thanks
Recording piano with sustain pedal
Re: Recording piano with sustain pedal
Funny I had been puzzled with the same for long time.
The sustain pedal DOES GET recorded.
And on the instant replay, you do not always hear it: just press stop and play again, and you'll hear the notes sustained.
I noticed it sounded incorrectly, but when I hit stop and start, it started sounding correctly.
I'm assuming it happens because:
When recording a pattern, it consists of the midi events. The sustain pedal up and down are midi events on the timeline.
If you start a recording with the sustain pedal down, the pedal down event won't be recorded.
If the recording is finished with the sustain pedal down, the pedal up event won't be recorded.
If after the recording is finished you release the pedal (and the replay began instantly after it's finished), then you'll hear the beginning of the recording without the sustain.
So it's kind of tricky. It's visible on the microscope view, though.
