I successfully installed the Roland Drivers and see FANTOM 06 07 08 in the device manager, however MIDI events don't appear to be being sent when playing. I've tried several VST plug-ins, midi monitor applications, etc. with the same result. Is this something that also needs to be configured in a scene? I looked at all the MIDI settings in the Scene menu and it appears to be configured to send the output of all of the zones. What steps am I missing?
Thank You,
Derek
No MIDI Output via USB
Re: No MIDI Output via USB
Have you 1- specified the driver (Vendor) under System>General>USB driver, then 2- pressed Write button to save the SYSTEM settings and then 3- restarted Fantom ?
System...USB output...1- audio output switch ON ?, 2- Output volume is correct ?
ZONE INT/EXT for selected zones in green (EXT) or yellow (BOTH) ? Orange will mute the zone and at times can be hard to distinguish.

Re: No MIDI Output via USB
I have an iPad Air 4th gen with usb-c.
I tried a usb-c to usb-b cable (flat to flat)
And that didn’t work.
So I bought an apple usb-c to usb-b converter.
Then I connected a flat usb-b cable to a usb-square cable.
And plugged the usb-b square device into the computer socket of my Fantom-06
In system, I set to generic usb driver and set usb advanced to on.
Then shift on the zone 1 button until it’s yellow not green.
Now I can play my Fantom and it sends midi to iPad eg in the synth one app. So that send midi output correctly. But playing the keypad in synth one doesn’t send midi to Fantom. So I’m still struggling to send iPad midi data back to the Fantom.
Any suggestions?
I have an iPad app called chords which allows you to arrange chords and send, so my end goal is to record iPad chord sequences in the Fantom sequencer.

Re: No MIDI Output via USB
I finally got Zenbeats to play my Fantom from my iPad via usb midi
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmT4omSHBQo
The link above helped. I had to turn on generic driver rather than vendor and under midi set remote keyboard switch to on.
My chords app still doesn’t play but that’s a different story, I think it only dumps midi via export not direct midi channel data unless I have a Bluetooth midi interface, which I may look at.

I have a similar issue with my Fantom-06 and Ableton Live.Datavalue wrote: ↑11:35, 15 May 2022 I finally got Zenbeats to play my Fantom from my iPad via usb midi

I found this weird workaround: select a zone/kb switch group with the pad, but then scroll to another one using the arrows or touchscreen. This way, midi messages are sent to Live.
Hope this helps
