New FB group For Zen-core instruments

Post by cello »

Beyond delighted to let you know that a new group is coming on Facebook for the zen-core family off instruments (currently Fantom, new Jupiters, MC 707/101, AX edge and the RD-88).

The new group is based on the capability of sharing sounds between the platforms.

There will be a monthly competition for the best sound - as voted by the community.

The group is supported by Roland and prizes will come from Roland.

Roland is keen to encourage community and feedback - this group will be all about that!

Will keep you posted when I hear when the FB group is launched...

Sounds cool, but what we need is a proper vst/au consistent and visually engaging PC/MAC/(Linux) editor for all zen-Core platforms to really take advantage of that cross-sharing capability. Not some crappy IPad half-there app that would no longer be supported when Apple no longer gives a .....

Problem though : as long as Sysex is not implemented, options outside of Roland for external editing are pretty limited. That might even sound like a voluntary commercial hideout of the zen core features deep in the menus. You could for instance realize that you get the three same filter type (Roland/J, Moog, Sequential/Prophet), and realize that the Jupiter X(m) dedicated synth modules have just limitations w.r.t the « full » ZenCore engine. Same stuff under the hood, only more dedicated controls (same with Fantom 2019).

Is this the same as the existing MC101 / MC707 facebook group which has good Roland participation? Do you have a link for it?
