Problem when trying to transpose a Sequence

Post by Ben_Alma »

Hello everyone !

I had a quick question on the Jupiter XM :
When I record a quick and easy sequence (with Step Edit) like a bass arpeggiator, I modified the settings like the "Keyshift" in Step Mode to be able to transpose my sequence, when I play a note, the sequence starts with an other note...
I tried everything but can't understand what are the settings I need to change so it starts with the right note...

Can someone help me ?

Thanks a lot :-)

In keyshift, the best way is to build a sequence in C and start playing it by pressing C on the keyboard.

If you record a sequence in F# for example, your sequence will be F# if you play C on keyboard, but if you play F# on keyboard because your sequence is in F#........ something wrong should happen.

Thanks for your answer, it suddenly makes sense !
So if my song is in D for example, and I wrote a bass line pattern in D if I want to play it live and to change it during the song to follow the chords, I have no other choice than to "transpose" it in my head first and play a C to play a D, then play an A to play a B for example ? (That's a bit odd... !)

Thanks again :-)

yes, that's why building a sequence in C from de beginning alows us to transpose it with no issues.

And mind that if a sequence includes minor or major degrees, it will remain the same after transposition.
