Hello Everyone,
Sorry it seems to be an easy question, but I can't find on the MIDI parameters of the XM how to connect it to another synth, without playing notes on the second one.
I use the MIDI out of my Jupiter and connect it to the Midi In of my Minilogue XD for example, and I just want to spread the tempo from the first one to the second one.
I tried every parmaters of both synths (included turning off the "external keyboard" parameter on the XM), but every time I play a note on my XM, I can hear a note on the Minilogue as well, and I just wanted the minilogue to by sync with the XM...
Do you know how to do it ?
Thanks a lot :-)
How to sync 2 synths with MIDI
Re: How to sync 2 synths with MIDI
Set the Korg's midi channel higher than 5, cause XM transmits midi for 5 PART = 5 midi channels = 1 to 5. Korg's midi channel should be #6 at least.
For the xm, go to menu/system and set tempo sync to midi out.

Thanks a lot for your answer !
And if it is the other way round, I mean to not have notes played on my XM ?
I play also with a rythm box, then a Behringer Poly D, then my XM then my minilogue.
I need to do the same kind of thing, and change my mini channel on my XM to be sure that I won't have any "note" signal from the Poly D ?
Thanks again :-)

Re: How to sync 2 synths with MIDI
Anyone knows more about that ?
I realize I have not enough knowledge about MIDI and I really struggle with my band to sync my Rythm box, then Behringer poly D, then Jupiter XM, without playing notes from one synth to another... !

Re: How to sync 2 synths with MIDI
It's the same principle - just make sure every piece of kit is using different midi channels. The Xm defaults to channels 1-5 as above, so it's probably easiest to set your other kit to something else. The Poly D defaults to 1, so you could change that to 7 if your monologue is on 6.
Re: How to sync 2 synths with MIDI
Thanks a lot, I will try that ! :-)
I am a newcomer in the marvellous Synth World, and Midi parameters and settings are clearly hard to catch, with no real explanations or guides anywhere... !

Instrument manuals tend to be a bit sketchy on MIDI these days, I guess because it's been around a long time and a certain amount of knowledge is assumed. There are loads of online resources that might help you though, eg:
