Jupiter X LED buttons too bright!!

Post by daviddellasanta »

Hi all, great forum. I wonder if anyone else finds the colored buttons too bright and/or knows of a solution to turn them down w/o turning down the brightness of the numeric display. I know how to turn down the LED brightness in the system menu, but that also turns down the numeric display's brightness. If I dial down the LED brightness to where the buttons aren't blinding me, I can't see the numeric display. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I think each button has two kinds of the same colour, one brighter and one duller. Ok I checked - just Red and White, but still.

Jupiter X eng05 p29:

Colour Set

Off: Unlit
O: Orange
Y: Yellow
W: White
G: Green
B: Blue
R: Red
V: Violet
W2: Bright white
R2: Bright red

I changed my colours for partial editing to purples and greens, as there was too much red, white & yellow everywhere.

That's interesting. How did you change your colors? Sounds like this requires getting into the source code. Is there a way for a non-coder like me to do this?

Page 29 in the manual “Jupiter-X_eng05_W.pdf”

In the System menu: “SYSTEM COLOR SET”

You see a list of buttons; first are all the Off states and then all the On states.

If you’re interested, the buttons which I changed are for the Part switches when in Scene edit. “Part Off” purple and “Part On” green.

For the Step editor, I changed the buttons to Blue, White, Blue, White… So the first 4 are blue, the second 4 are white, etc. Helps to visualise the four beats better.
