Factory Reset a Fantom 06

Post by abyzz »

I'm trying to factory reset a Fantom 06, but not having a lot of luck.
I've followed the official instructions from Roland, but it doesn't seem to behave the way I expect it to.
Currently I have a problem where A002 Scene "MKII Treasures" is blank, no tones are in that scene at all.
(I'm sure someone can confirm that there is supposed to be something in that scene from a factory new state)

So I've tried the Utility - Factory reset , and checked all 3 options , waited, turned off and on , and although user tones have been removed, there are still Expansions loaded, and the A0002 scene is still empty.
Tried removing expansions first, then a factory reset , expansions are gone but A0002 still empty.
It just doesn't seem to be going back to a factory state in my opinion.

Any ideas?

So, for anyone facing the same problem , I finally figured it out...

The "missing" scenes were down to certain expansions not loaded.
I found some documentation of the Roland website with all the patch data for all the tones in the Fantom, and it mentioned that the SN Piano and Organ expansions were preloaded from the factory. So I re-installed these expansions, and all the 'missing' scenes re-appeared.

Problem solved !
