I will check if there is any available and will let you know...

I see it otherwise: you succeed installing EXSN01...
Re: Wave / Expansion Memory Damaged
Hello friends, once again my Fantom is damaged and is in service .... and I had such high expectations and bought it with such great desire. For the two months I had it, I couldn't answer some questions:
Why is there a USER DRUM TRACK in the cheap PSR models and not in the FANTOM?
Why in KROME 2012, MX 2012, MOXF 2013, the arpeggers work better than those of FANTOM 2019?
Why isn't there a common Back up file in FANTOM for everything?
Why do you need to constantly turn FANTOM on and off when you install a file?
I didn't have more time, but there would probably be questions related to multisamples, connection to a computer (PC), but I leave these questions to someone else.
I found a super-natural solution, I return to the familiar - on Monday my new MONTAGE is waiting for me, it was not easy for me to make this decision, but my adventure with Roland is over.
Thank you for responding when I needed help, and I hope that the problems with FANTOM will be resolved in the future.

Re: Wave / Expansion Memory Damaged
Just found this....from PaulGreen.
Got a blank screen so I tried to go back to 2.0 and got a message on the screen that said"
WAVE EXPANSION MEMORY DAMAGED
PLEASE CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE
Update: Holding down a combination of buttons (SHIFT + EXIT + ENTER) finally brought up a window asking if I wanted to try and recover the expansion memory. That apparently reformatted the expansion memory and all was normal once rebooted.
From this I gather that reverting to earlier firmware for troubleshooting purposes corrupts the expansion memory. This isn't documented anywhere but should be.

Anyway...
Montage 8 was kept on my screening since 2016, but I thought it too complex for me...I saw videos where the steps necessary to do something mounted to the unbearable, to say the least. So I hesitated and then came Fantom, with 16 zones and 4 partials instead of Montage's 8/8 internal and 8 external.
Then I saw this video...
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4xK33FmiW24
and said: I WANT THIS THING !!!!
Anyway I might buy one, in the future and check that SUPERKNOB.
Fantom, while still not perfect, is a dream for me: I hear songs I did a couple of months ago and go thinking: Is that me ? Cannot be !!!! Really ???? Choirs, strings, pipes, harpsichords, trumpets, flutes, drums... everything and then more. Outstanding.
You will find great help if required from deeply dedicated people here...

Re: Wave / Expansion Memory Damaged
Thanks for the useful information. Roland's support advised me to leave the Fantom in local service, if the problem is solved by pressing three buttons, I just have no words. What are these people standing there for and getting paid for, last time they made me leave the Fantom in local service for two weeks, they played me a video for beginners, they skilfully avoided the topic, they didn't understand what I was talking about, finally the problem was fixed with the new firmware 2.01 I lost two weeks without Fantom, in those scarce times for musicians during that time, two projects failed, valuable time, money, but most importantly - nerves. For what, there was no one from Roland to explain adequately, reasonably, what the problems are, how it is best to solve them, not to confuse and deceive me. I can't believe this is happening in the 21st century, so Roland thinks they will continue to do so.
How can I trust fantom more if it crashes again and leaves me, I tried to load a simple sound bank and nothing more, what will happen when I start loading it, working seriously with it, that's why it's a workstation, and not only to enjoy it, how it starts and shines like a Christmas tree, and how nice the piano is.
Understand me correctly, I like Fantom, it has potential, but it seems that Roland was in a hurry to put it on the market, wherever I read on the forums, everyone complains about mistakes, bugs, unresolved issues... Now I need a solid tool to work with, not to tremble, what else could go wrong, and when it will leave me again.

Re: Wave / Expansion Memory Damaged
I deeply understand you.
My first unit had to be returned due to freezing now and then.
After an update (1.5 if my memory does not deceive me) it worked ok for a week or so, no issues at all.
Then freezing returned just a couple of days before the expiration of the 15 days trial at home I had been offered with. Then it suddenly locked forever and was returned.
The new unit arrived some ten days later and behaved well and then came Ver 2.0, only suffering a new freezing after that; but that time I thought it was my fault since the unit was starting up and reading a 128 GB USB drive I just had plugged in while I started playing without realising poor Famtom was still "incorporating" that stick. By the way, I saw a tutorial recommending a maximum of 16GB !!!! but I use a Sandisk 128 GB without any delay or any issues so far (formatted with Fantom and only removing files from it via Fantom).
Anyway, I use Fantom at home as an amateur so the only thing I get is fun and good time. But if I were a professional musician, and it seems you are, I would walk the aviation route: have at hand two pieces of anything required, for the sake of safety (the show must go on) and your own peace of mind.

Re: Wave / Expansion Memory Damaged
The first problem I had with the Fantom was with the USB Flash drive :)
Some time ago I managed to find some USB Flash drives 4GB and I kept them. When I bought the Fantom about two months ago, my first job was to change the operating system to 2.0, but with my USB Flash drive 4GB nothing happened. Somehow I realized that maybe the problem comes from USB Flash drive 4GB, the next day I bought a new one - Apacer USB 3.1 32gb, there was no smaller one, but it worked and I managed to install.
I last had a job with XP50 ... since then I don't know what's going on in Roland. That is why I am in this situation now. The funny thing is that last month I sold my 5 hardware synthesizers, deciding that the Fantom is the only one I need ... and to a large extent, that's really the case.
I really appreciate what the people of Roland are doing, working hard, it's not easy for them to please all the whims. I had a problem, but they solved it in two weeks. For many things, the Fantom is very convenient to work with, but we humans are used to seeing mostly the shortcomings. I was positive, I wanted to get the most out of the Fantom, to focus on the benefits it has, and they are a lot, so I bought it, so I sold my old synthesizers ... and the next problem came, just a day after it I returned home. Maybe it's just bad luck for me ....

Re: Wave / Expansion Memory Damaged
Forget everything about bad luck.
It does not exist.
On that I give my word.
Take it easy and have a very good time while you get Fantom back or Montage finally arrives...
Or use that time to write a requiem...now that you are tangled up in blue.

Re: Wave / Expansion Memory Damaged
thanks for the support
<<< get Fantom back or Montage >>> tomorrow I will have a whole day to think again.
Familiar territory, tons of sounds and programs, I load and forget, or the new territory, new opportunities, nothing available, new problems .... :)))

Re: Wave / Expansion Memory Damaged
I forgot to mention after <<< I load and forget >>> and a step back, a lot of thinking will fall
Re: Wave / Expansion Memory Damaged
A lot of thinking fell when I was recording very happily after making switch groups to arrange 16 zones just to discover changing banks was not allowed while recording was in progress !!!!
Re: Wave / Expansion Memory Damaged
Good info on reformatting Fantom memory. Thanks Paul & FGM!
