Not a BUG but a very annoyng things

Post by Redrain68 »

I've lost for a second time one scene....
If you use only the Fantom ok ...but...

Now I'm using Montage that change the Fantom scene via pch (because set list of Montage are better for me).

the thing is this : if you change scene from the screen of the Fantom when you save the scene the Fantom proposes the same location of the selected scene so you press save and all it's ok ...but...

if you change the scene from a program change sended via Montage when you save Fantom proposes the last scene memory location selected via the screen of the Fantom BUT NOT the current scene location.

So if you are distracted you save the current scene OVER the previously ON-Fantom-Screen selected scene..

in this way now you have 2 identical scenes and have lost the overwrited scene...

this is the first time in my synth-life that this happen (30 years started with a Korg Poly800)

the save destination location must be alway the current scene location, this not happen with this Fantom.

It is a very well known design issue by people who walk the Fantom keyboard ten hours a day.

Also, some S1,S2,S3 assignments will kill your scene, as values will move from a very much calculated 10,15,4 ,16 to 64,64,64,64 when on and then -63,-63,-63,-63 when switched off.

Remember: a scene is such at the very beginning. Back it up when finished. Then play it and enjoy AND DO NOT SAVE IT OR IT WILL BE DESTROYED. Just select another scene and then come back.

Enjoy...it is a masterpiece only known by those who lived after September 5th 2019.

Maybe my english is very bad but the things that I want to say is completely different.

I save the scene but the memory location proposed by Fantom is not the currend edited scene but a previously selected by Fantom's screen scene, so if I go speedy I save the current scene over another scene not over the current edited scene.

This only happens to me when I want to save the starting scene [C128] and Fantom selects A001... instead of C128.

try to selet a scene by fantom screen( i.e. 1), then select another scene by external program change (i.e. 10)

now you see scene 10, play scene 10, edit scene 10 BUT when you try to save the Fantom try to save the curren scene (10) over scene 1....so if you are distract ZAC ! scene 10 is saved over scene 1, the result is (after hours of editing) you have 2 identical scene (1 and 10) and you have lost scene 1 previously saved day before.

I understand...
Playing Fantom as my only source...no chance to select anything from an outboard equipment...but the issue it is the very same as with the starting scene...

It should be fixed...
