Official 1.50 update available now
Re: Official 1.50 update available now
I moved from V1.04 to V1.50 and installed all the 15 axial expansions (http://axial.roland.com/category/fantom/) and the 5 ZEN-Core Sounds Packs (https://www.roland.com/global/promos/zen-core/).
Everything was smooth and fine!
I love the Piano Roll feature, now it's usable, at list from my point of view.
I'm still not so satisfied about tha Pattern pad mode. The sequencer is modeled on groups and the groups are the things to launch in my opinion.
If I can select live from the pad the group it will be really easy.
In any case Roland did an amazing job.
Let's see what will be next!

It's nice that V-Piano responds to octave shift now!

Re: Official 1.50 update available now
v1.50 bug with SuperNatural tones: if you use Master Key Shift (Menu -> System -> Sound -> Master Key Shift) and adjust the pitch of the board up or down, when selecting SuperNatural tones they are adjusted by this pitch adjustment *twice* for some reason.
If you tune down a half-step like I do, dropping this value to -1 drops all tones by a half-step but drops SN tones down a whole-step. Dropping this value to -2 drops all tones by a whole-step, but drops SN tones down two whole-steps, etc. It works the same if you shift values up.
It appears as though it can be manually corrected in the individual Zone Edit -> Pitch -> Coarse Tune to compensate but that's a real pain, especially if you swap out tones in a Zone on a scene from SN to non-SN tones and don't realize it.
I use this feature on all my boards since my band tunes down one half step (Ab = 415.3 instead of A = 440) to help out the singers, so this is very frustrating, to say the least.

Bricked my Fantom 7
Re: Official 1.50 update available now
That's alarming. Is it completely bricked or does the display show anything? Are you able to boot it up with write held and the USB stick in memory and get the installing update screen?dobrojoe wrote:Bricked my Fantom 7
Re: Official 1.50 update available now
When it boots up, I get an error message 'Program Version Error' on the screen and the Fantom is completely unresponsive otherwise, I can't even switch off without pulling the plug. I've tried twice with different downloads and USB sricks. Followed the update instructions to the letter. I can't even do factory reset as the menus don't work. Is there a key combo to reset to factory?
Re: Official 1.50 update available now
Problem solved. I wasn't letting the Board 1 update complete before changing over the USB drive. There is a sort of ASCII progress bar at the top which has to run all the way to the right. Not very obvious but the cold light of day and all that!

The prompts leave something to be desired.dobrojoe wrote:Problem solved. I wasn't letting the Board 1 update complete before changing over the USB drive.
