Backup from Fantom 6 to Fantom 06 possible?

I have a Fantom 6 and want to buy a Fantom 06. can the backup I made of the Fantom 6 also be loaded into the Fantom 06? thanks in advance

Consider asking Roland for an official answer. It might work, however, I am not sure if I would even test it (if I would have a Fantom-0).

I compared a backup from my Fantom-7 against the backup from a Fantom-0, which is linked from Emanuele Casali's Youtube video (ROLAND Fantom-0 Top 80 Cover Collection). The structure of the backups look surprisingly similar. For example, the Fantom-0 backup also includes user VPiano tones, although it does not have the VPiano engine. The only structural difference is that the Fantom-0 contains 2,048 user samples whereas the Fantom-7 contains 8,000, and I somehow expect that it will result in an error during an import/restore.

An alternative that should work: Export and import scenes. This should also cover all user tones that are referenced from the scenes. However, it will not cover everything. For example, pad samples and tone ratings.

I will test the same scenario next week. My Fantom 7 is being repaired by Roland and I bought a Fantom-07 since my jobs will continue and I need something to play. The only problem that could arise (in my eyes) is that you haven´t installed the same extensions.

I'm asking myself if I can install all my Fantom extensions (as far as I have enough memory) without license problems.

Got my Fantom-07 today and restored a Fantom-7 Backup without problems. Only the sounds I made with the model expansions were gone (as expected)
