Adding class compliance to fantom

Post by mndst »

Hi,

I like to use my ipad for backing tracks. Also synth and effects would be great to use in combination with the fantom. However connecting to a computer requires a driver.
I would like to see Roland making the fantom class compliant so no drivers are needed and a direct connection with an iPad van be made.

In case there is a way I could use my iPad connected, without the use of a laptop, please let me know.

Hi FGM,

That's a cool product. Thanks for mentioning it here.

Do you also have a way to playback audio from ipd through the Fantom?

Ipad....via audio inputs....I suppose.

There ase so many iPads out there...with very different connectors...30 pin, lightning, USB-C.

Grab a cable to convert it to a couple of TR plugs.

...and then...

Using PARALLEL in the AUDIO IN tab (MENU-EFFECTS...) and setting PAN L64 and PAN 63R will bring a huge stereo stage.

Remember you are to set AUDIO IN active every time (blue line on it) you power up Fantom.
And that next to each jack there is a tiny volume control that most people ignore while thinking they are just screws...

Or use a Bluetooth dongle...

I am so far away from the Apple environment I guess there are many other advanced ways...

My 99$ Windows XP laptop (21 years old and counting) is still connected that way to play my FLAC collection via WinAmp controlled from a spare old Android smartphone thanks to Ampwifi.

Yes. Audio and midi Class compliance must be a included in a next upgrade like mc101 Or mc707. I,ve tríed every type of cable, adapter, etc yo connect my ipads and always is problematic. Please Roland, do it. We know you can
