HI there, I noticed the same issue demonstrated in this video (no AT on black keys) on my new Fantom 6:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcudIeIpE18
Later on I noticed that this is affecting cutoff as a target only, using AT to trigger a LFO for vibrato OTOH generally works on all keys (not great due to the needed force feeling even more awkward on the black keys but it works). That and the fact that all of the varying keybeds on the Fantom models seem to be affected could indicate that it's rather a problem with the firmware than a hardware issue (unless the pressure strip underneath the keys has multiple channels and one is dead). So it may be worthwhile if you could verify this behavior on your Fantoms and then file a bug report with support, maybe this is something that could be fixed after all, even though there's probably no hope to generally make AT a joy to use on the Fantom. :)

Re: Re Aftertouch not working on black keys
Count yourself lucky, AT doesn’t work on any keys of the 8
Re: Re Aftertouch not working on black keys
Hi
AT working here on both white and black keys.
Fantom 6.
Nevertheless I really need to apply a lot of pressure on the keys (after multiple system configurations of course).
So I'm tempted to open the synth and try some kind of adjustment specially on the pads that in my case always trig erratically.

Hi
AT on PHA 50 works while you need to hit the keys with a hammer to trigger it (close to be damaged).
Reading several posts, those aim to be a hardware problem, and the solution .... well... as a car manufacturers ..... IMHO ... is ... recall.
Roland still remains in absolutely silent....
Regards,
PS: Fantom G8 has keybed PHA3 and AT works perfect

The After Touch issue is related to Fantom 8 due it has a different keybed: PHA 50, against Fantom 6 & 7.

Re: Re Aftertouch not working on black keys
Black keys working on Fantom 6...
By working I mean, Afterbash...Technically AT is working...I've always been dissatisfied with its "range".

Re: Re Aftertouch not working on black keys
Little update: It seems to depend on the patch, meanwhile I have found some patches where AT works on the black keys too, maybe AT sensitivity settings not high enough combined with even higher force needed to trigger AT on the black keys. Anyway, after fumbling around with the System sensitivity settings I found out that even when you set the sensitivity to something around 80-90 (which gives the least on/off switch behavior for some reason) it's next to impossible for me to apply a sufficient force to trigger it in a normal playing situation in first place, and it's completely impossible to meter the amount of pressure to get the desired amount of effect. Not to mention that it hurts seeing the keys bending under the pressure needed to apply AT. Just useless for me.
Re: Re Aftertouch not working on black keys
Aftertouch works perfectly as soon as a blatanly coward tank rolls over any black or white key.
Fantom also survives those kind of bastard behaviours.
