Tone wheel organs. Sounds great! 25 presets included. Massive customization.
The supplementary manual in my humble opinion isn't as clear as should be. Better see Mark's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4SjV8RQ-gM for a complete explanation about this model expansion.
Ableton Live DAW integration.

Too much, but ... we wish more. (Sequencer, time signatures... audio tracks.)

I think the organ model sounds great. Thank you, Roland.

I am surprised (and delighted) to find an Ableton Live DAW link as a part of this update.

As the built-in sequencer of the Fantom is much like Live...I'm wondering, what was the point? To show how NOT capable the built-in sequencer is?

It seems the Live integration is fairly comprehensive and useful...actually found myself using Live again to test it out. And realizing, I like Live better as a sequencer than the Fantom.

Which brought me to the arp of the Fantom. Which...I guess I need to turn on Remote Keys to use (that's probably why it doesn't work when Local is off)...but here too, the Fantom arp is just...pointless.

I loaded up a Max arp and the very first pattern is up & down by eighth notes...a typical arp pattern. On the Fantom: "Notes" ???

I do not find the Fantom arp useful or inspiring in the least.

So - thanks for the organ, Roland...but please MORE ELECTRIC PIANOS!!! Uh...just kidding.

Make the sequencer better. Make the arp more traditional and useful. The JD-800 model would be nice...

And again:

Linear sequencing (tempo maps, time signatures)...like in their previous products
Sample loop smoothing/crossfade...like in their previous products
Sample stretch/Elastic audio
Audio input activation per scene, not global
Harmonizer - like in their (including Boss) current products - Cube ST2...
User chords...like in their previous products
Bring RPS back...like in their previous products
More DAW drivers (Cubase, please)
Old tone (i.e. JV/XP/XV style) structures?
Better midi clock timing (as slave via USB)

Organs sounds pretty decent to me on a first go, will have to see how easy it is to get the kinds of sounds I’m into - Inspiral Carpets Saturn V almost Italian transistor style, Deep Purple Hush classic dirty rock organ, Charlatans Weirdo very lively hammond bell. Supergrass In it for the money growly wheels, U2 One wheezy organ particularly the incidental riff etc.

Agree with the previous posters requests, but also fingers crossed for Studio 1 and Reason support in the future.

The organ is great . Ableton cannot connect to PC in win 10. software is probably missing ( control surface ) . pressing DAW ctrl Fantom gives message : " Please conect to the PC"

That message, "Please Connect to the PC" is the only thing, add the white and black keys, not having changed in my Fantom 8 from the very first time it was released.

Those blinking ADSR knobs could be problematic for people prone to siezures. Even tho I don't have that problem I do cover the blinking tempo button with black tape because STAR TREK has been in reruns for over 50 years now.

EdGe your list mostly matches mine. In addition, I think most of us would like to see fixed global settings option for ZONE VIEW, PATTERN VIEW, TEMPO, TIME SIGNATURE, PATTERN LENGTH, and QUANTIZATION. In other words, ROLAND ARE YOU LISTENING, just because it won't increase sales like a sexy Virtual Organ Tonewheel, it doesn't mean existing stupid stuff shouldn't be fixed.

Regardless of one being or not prone to siezures, any blinking light produces loads on the eyes, commited to adjust light intake to that steady alternating brightness.

It is well known among laptop users and is called PWM, pulse width modulation.

See...

https://laptopmedia.com/top-laptop-pwm- ... -eyesight/#

You can see if any light at your home do blink and is damaging your eyes by tiring them by simply pointing your smartphone camera to it. A couple of years ago nearly 90% of my tests showed blinking at the shop. Now, it is around 10%, thankfully. Dimming them, if available, will probably show more blinking than when at full power.
