Export audio wav.-tracks of a song separately at once ?

Post by CJ »

Hi all,

I used to be a long time Fantom X user (after that to Yamaha Motif XS) but now I get more and more interest. Time flies when I realize when was my last time being active here :-)

Some manual, tutorials, demos on Youtube AND playing physically in the store makes me to focus BACK on the Fantom.

Btw, no bashing intended towards the great Motif XS, Montage etc., it's just a personal feeling.

Now here's my question (because couldnt' really find an answer by forum-searching and Google):

Is it possible to export audio-tracks from a song separately BUT then all in one time, to an external (USB) storage ? (I don't mean to record real audio into the Fantom, but 'resample' the midi-tracks played in Fantom)

Example: Eventhough I did not play the FA06 I know that there was some feature that made it possible. It 'sampled/recorded' them one by one, but the time waiting is not the problem for me.

I often like my compsing-workflow to work without a computer/DAW, just working with the hardware sequencer.
Then after that when I finished I want to export those audi-tracks for audio editing. EQ, FX etc.
I use Logic Pro X btw.

So is this feature 'featured' on the new Fantom ?

Hope my question is clear.

Thanks in advance.

You can record all 16 Stereo tracks in real-time within a DAW (PC/Mac). There is no export to usb drive.

Wow !

So I guess I was still 'stuck' in the oldskool way of thinking :-)

Okay, so the Fantom can be functioning as an USB/audi-interface soundcard right ?

To say it 'simple' : I can create a new project in Logic, create 16 audio track, and assign each channel from the Fantom-Song to each audio recording track in Logic ?

yes, audio and midi for each track!!! And I think resampling is also possible with the sampler of the Fantom.

I wish they would just go ahead an make it Class-Compliant. As soon as there is some new OS you will be forced to do things the old way... C'mon Roland just add some of the old with the new.

If it can be of any help, I did see it nowhere in written, but a couple of days ago I discovered by touching it accidentally that when you go to exporting a song, clicking on EXPORT SOURCE SONG [above INCLUDE PARAMETERS] will make a new window to appear called EXPORT SOURCE, offering three options: export PATTERN, export GROUP, export SONG.

Edit: Kindly check reference manual, pages 85, 95, 97 and 100.
Many hours playing, none reading...

I think it is only for midi export, not for audio. You have to use a daw or resample.
