I'm finding USB over MIDI to be very finicky with the Fantom. If I unplug and plug in a new device while the Fantom is on the Fantom shows up but doesn't send any messages. It seems the MIDI implementation is not very robust at all.
I would expect to be able to hot plug USB while the fantom is on without any issues (as you can with the Montage). Sometimes I want to plug in my computer, other times my iPad to have it follow along notation on a screen while I'm playing.
Does anyone else experience this? If it's a bug then please Roland - Fix this!

Re: USB Over Midi Fails?
Just installed through usb, mine doesn't send midi at all over usb...
I can see Fantom 6/7/8 listed as a midi device in Cubase or in a stand-alone synth, but I can't get midi notes to trigger.

Ok, here's an interesting thing. If I change the zone (zone buttons top left) to one other than 1 then it seems to output MIDI notes again. But not in any other zone. This is really weird.

Yes, it's very strange.
If I selected another performance, It only changed the number in the display but stayed locked on performance A001 (piano + pad)...
Now it seems to work though. I restarted, selected performance A016 (single tone play) and this seems to send midi to my pc.
