Greetings,
Brand new to Roland Cloud. Doing a trial of the Ultimate subscription right now and really liking it. However, having only been using the system for about a week, Roland Cloud Manager has suddenly stopped working. It just won't open. I'm on a Mac Pro 2009 flashed to 5,1 running Mojave, Pro Tools HDX version 2021.6. It was working fine for a few days, and I installed a bunch of plugins and libraries. Yesterday I went to go install more stuff to check out and the Cloud Manager app simply won't open, won't open from the Dock, or if I click on the app directly in the Applications folder, or if I select "Open" after right-clicking on the app. It doesn't even begin to launch and then hang, it just does nothing. I tried moving the Roland Cloud .plist file out of Preferences onto the Desktop , restarted, but that didn't make any difference.
Got an email into Support, but thought I'd check here too. Thanks! - Steve

Hi, innerbooty! Brian from Roland Cloud here. Sorry that you were having difficulties getting the the app going. Commonly, a restart will fix this if it occurs again. Also, feel free to Contact Support any time through the link at http://www.rolandcloud.com/support and we'll take care of you. Thanks! :)innerbooty wrote: ↑17:35, 25 July 2021 Ok, well, I did a force quit of the Roland Cloud process in the Activity Monitor and now when I click on it the app seems to be opening again
Re: Roland Cloud Manager app stopped working - Mac
I'm a big fan of the Roland Cloud concept, but I hate it as it is currently implemented.
Roland Cloud Manager app for macOS is pretty awful. It's often non-responsive, requiring me to Force Quit and relaunch it several times before it becomes functional. Sometimes it will indicate "New version available" although clicking on the text doesn't seem to do anything.
What bothers me most is trying to load the Roland Cloud plugins in Ableton Live. Most of the time trying to load any of the Roland Cloud plugins causes Ableton Live to become non-responsive, requiring a Force Quit and relaunch. Sometimes I will need to do this Force Quit and relaunch 5 to 10 times before any of the Roland Cloud plugins will load successfully. Once one of the Roland Cloud plugins does load successfully, then all of them will load successfully.
I like the sounds, but I am growing tired of fighting with Roland Cloud. In its current state, Roland Cloud is definitely not worth the $20/month I am paying for it.

Hey, Spazoo! Brian from Roland Cloud here. If you're ever having difficulty with updating Roland Cloud Manager, we always have the most recent version available on our website here ( https://www.rolandcloud.com/catalog/ess ... ud-manager ). Simply download the package, run the uninstaller, then the installer, and you should be set. If you have a previous version, this method will update the manager without having to download the instruments again. We are constantly working on improving the collection and platform, and we're always available to assist through the Contact Support feature in the lower left menu of Roland Cloud Manager. Please feel free to reach out anytime, and we'll take care of you. Thanks!Spazoo wrote: ↑01:40, 13 August 2021 I'm a big fan of the Roland Cloud concept, but I hate it as it is currently implemented.
