Hi
My name is Lance and I will pay someone for their time to help me with Roland cloud... name your price.
I don't have the time or patience to figure out how to download from Cloud and if this or that file is compatible and it seems alot harder than what it is. I downloaded a tone from the Cloud that said it was compatiable with the RD 88 and the file format wasn't. I'm not a rocket scientist with plugins and software and it's beyond me...
I just want a few specific organ sounds from the 60's and be able to put onto my keyboard easily without worry about compatibility and digging through "expansion packs" and all these silly packages.
I can provide examples of the organ sounds I'm looking for and perhaps someone reading this can create these sounds from me from scratch if that's even possible. I'm not sure if a instrument creator exist but I'm willing to pay for someone's time to recreate the sounds Im looking for. I'm sure the Cloud library already has what I'm looking for but it's confusing to me.
Feel free to email me at lance@lancelipinsky.com if anyone is interested
thanks you, -LL

Hi Lance
I have been going through the same Frustration. Maybe this will help you and others who are finding out the joys of the Roland Cloud.
You do of course have to update to the latest firmware on the RD88 to be able to load these .exz files. This is well documented and straightforward.
So while they claim Zen core engine is compatible with other Roland instruments, you can't load their sound free expansion packs into the RD88. ☹
hers the rub ..Only those .exz files specifically named as for the RD88 will load. Despite being able to download them (albeit for Fantom) and the RD88 recognising them on the USB stick. It will not import them.
That means paying for them @ $19.99 each. Which is disappointing as I thought that this claimed “Zen Core compatibility” would allow us to use these packs, which are available free for Fantom owners.
I have in the past made extensive use of the great free packs for the FA06 from AXIAL which are in the main the same sounds as these Zen core expansion packs. I was trying to use the RD88 instead of my FA06
Oh well that’s what happens when you go Cloud and service based...you need to pay for all the backend.
Not impressed.
For me its the after purchase library and updates are what make an instrument better.
Had this with GEMS2 turbo
Got it with Nord, great sample packs and editing software all free
Got it with Roland FA06
Got with other many Roland products
Maybe they will relent and give some RD88 sound expansion packs away free from time to time, for us that have invested in their instruments.
The RD88 is however equipped with very many sounds, so you may well find what you are looking for already in the instrument and be able to create a scene with layered sounds from the instrument.
This is what I got from Roland..

Actually, it's the Fantom that has the special versions of the expansion packs for its hardware, i.e. anything that says "for FANTOM" in its description. Those packs are "free" for Fantom owners who've spent >$3k for that hardware, which is significantly more than the price of the RD-88 and other Zen-Core devices. The RD-88, on the other hand, gets the EX001 Stage Piano for "free"--with the purchase price of the RD-88.
The non-Fantom Zen-Core devices all use the same expansion packs, with those exceptions. There's a couple of drum packs that can't be used on all the devices, and one or two other minor exceptions that I can't recall right now.
There's a chart here that shows what works with what here:

However, the expansion packs and sound packs are all included with a paid membership, even the most affordable Core level:
{Whilst that is correct …I believe you still have to pay for a lifetime key for each RD88 sound expansion pack}
