BLIP BLOP - FLIM FLAM - PISH

Post by jerry_merry »

5.3.....Oh dear oh dear.

Another quality release from the Roland cloud. AS a system 8 owner I find this an absolute joke. Why no more poly plugs? Its such a great format ACB-plugout - yet no further input from Roland?

This seems to be the usual release pattern. First a quality release (like the recent TR-units), followed up one or two releases containing only sound banks for the Concerto software sample player. This is probably done in order to maintain the steady flow of releases.

I would assume that the next step will be another "Anthology" sample set and then later in the autumn a new VST synth, like the JP-8000 or something similar. I doubt that it will be compatible with System 8 though, I think the Aira plugout concept is pretty much decommissioned.

The Systm-8 got a massive update on functionality during superbooth, problem is it wasn't by Roland. Just watched the Omnisphere Hardware integration upgrade and demoed the System 8 (amongst others) with Omnisphere, all new waveforms and patches utilising the System 8 hardware, sounds much better than the system 8 internal engine, worth a look.

Maybe go make some music instead. Just a thought.

I do. But I also like coming to a forum and sharing my thoughts, feelings, frustrations and beliefs- I thought that's what forums are for?

Just a thought.
