Major upgrade to the RD-2000 Piano Editor layout, adding individual note editing for Individual Voicing.

RD-2000 Pianos (V and SN) are extremely customizable, but much of this is hidden behind a small screen. If you do put the energy into doing the note-by-note editing for Tuning, Character, or Level, it is not easy to move it to another zone or program.

This layout provides templates as a jumping off point, which can then be edited per individual notes, then written to the keyboard. If you have built a template in your RD, it can be loaded, edited, and saved to other zones & programs.

For one example - adjusting Level gives a different response than using EQ settings. EQ cuts or boosts indicated frequencies for all notes. Level cuts all frequencies of the indicated notes. So the “boost bass” template emphasizes all frequencies for the bass notes.

An extreme preset for Sympathetic Resonance (Rattle House) is provided to explore the impact SR can have on the SN piano sounds. The "hidden" SR zone send levels are made accessible.

I'm interested in the possibilities of this, but struggling to understand how it interacts with the KB, and also with what to a new user appears to be a very busy/cluttered interface.

I'm also concerned that your solution is powerful, and I need to know that I am not going to overwrite many patches in my Roland which I have previously developed. I just get the feeling with the complex interface of your software that I could touch one innocent looking button and write a bunch of stuff to my KB without even knowing what I have done.

Sorry for the newbie questions, but I would like to try this, but I can't risk what I already have. I hope you understand.

Are there any videos showing your editor being used specifically with the Roland to get me started?

On the RD 2000, the only parameters accessible via Sysex are the current scratchpad program. So nothing in permanent memory can changed until you decided to write program, scene, or system settings.

I planned to prepare a video, but I am moving my studio next week. Might be a few weeks until I am back up and running and can get the video completed.

Can you confirm what I need in able to use your editor.

Obviously an iPad and a copy of MidiDesigner for £20 from the iPad app store I assume.

But how does the ipad connect to the RD-2000?

My RD-2000 is connected to a PC via USB.

My iPad is on a wifi network, and I don't see how that is going to let me connect to the RD-2000. I'm completely technically literate re networking, but where is the connection to the RD-2000 coming from?

Sorry, been offline for a while moving, just starting to dig out from boxes now, but don't have studio set up.

You "should" be able to route the midi through the PC to and from the iPad. I have a mac, so cannot test this. Maybe a post on the MDP2 FB group or MDP2 Q&A site, as this is a configuration not unique to the RD-2000.
