A question for "Stuart" and "deserboat"
(In the case of an assignment on mod wheel 1 or 2)
What are the "controls change" for?
CC91 (reverb)
CC92 (tremolo)
CC93 (chorus)
CC94 (celeste)
CC 95 (phaser)
I found:
- When I assign CC91 (reverb) to mod wheel 1 or 2 mod, wheel 1 or 2 control the reverb is OK.
- When I assign to mod wheel 1 or 2 (CC92 or CC93 or CC94 or CC95) these "controls changes" nothing happens.
do you have an idea for these uses?
Sincerely Gus

Re: Question about "control change" at Stuart and Deserboat
Hi Gus,
On page 8 of the parameter manual the mod wheels can control CC 0 to 127. So Im not sure why its not controlling tremolo cc91 to phaser cc95? On page 17 midi manual its meant to transmit these? But then on page 2 of the midi manual it only lists reverb and chorus cc91 and cc93? Does chorus (send level) work at all?
Confusing.

Re: Question about "control change" at Stuart and Deserboat
Hi stuart, actually I make the same findings, CC93 does not seem to influence the "chorus".
only CC91 activates the reverb.
It's confusing but not serious at all.
Looking a little more I realized that "CC 93" assigned to "mod wheel 1 or 2" manages the amount of "sent delay" and not the effect "chorus".
CC92 / CC94 / CC95 appear to have no specific assignment....
good evening.

Re: Question about "control change" at Stuart and Deserboat
Hi Gus,
If it controls chorus delay rather than level its a mistake in the manual. You are good at troubleshooting the RD.
Do you use any synths with the RD? I see Native Instruments are releasing Massive X on 27th June. Should be interesting.
Cheers

Re: Question about "control change" at Stuart and Deserboat
Sorry, been away for a while.
The midi cc assignments are mostly for controlling external instruments. The labels phaser, chorus, etc, are from an older midi definition. Current definition uses generic Effects Depth 1, etc. When you set RD controls to a midi cc, the expectation is this would be controlling an external device.
No where in the parameter guide do I find any indication that the RD2000 effects respond to any midi cc values (other than the TW organ control). So if you are finding some that do respond, prolly want to make a list of what you are finding.
The way Roland expect the mod wheels to control the effects is by assigning them to Mod or Tremolo rate/depth knob, then editing the effect so that knob controls the desired parameter.
