Does anyone know if it's possible to change scenes via midi.

Unfortunately not, means 1/4 of program locations cannot be remotely accessed. Here is the response from Roland when I asked them this question.

You can select Tones or Programs via MIDI (using program change and bank select messages). Scenes are only available for selection from the front panel.
Since a Scene contains the same information as a Program, we would recommend using Programs for most of your programming, and these can then be selected remotely as needed. You can see the list of Programs and their associated MIDI messages for selection on pages 80-83 of the Parameter Guide (attached).
