1st 10 sounds are corrupt. Loud distortion +White Noise

My RD2000 about 1.25 years old suddenly has major issues with the first 10 sounds. They sound like horrible digital distortion mixed with white noise. Underneath the loud distortion I can hear what sounds like organ tones and piano... Is there a possibility the ROM wave files are corrupt? The distortion is random in nature, never sounding the same. Sometimes its heavier white noise, other times its predominately clusters of organ sounds mixed with digital sounding distortion. All other patches work. If I’m not mistaken, the first sounds are V-Technology patches? Ive already tried factory resetting, reinstalling the 1.5 OS & running diagnostics mode which all seem to work fine. I would like to know if anyone else has had similar issues & if theres something else I can do to possibly reinstall the original OS V1.00... Obviously I’ll have to take it into an authorized service center if nobody has any suggestions. To be honest, I would much rather have a new board than have it “serviced” fearing something else could go bad in the future. Expensive instruments well under the warranty window should be fully replaced in my opinion.
