Sync Sequencer to DAW

Apologies if this has been answered before - I have looked but couldn't find anything. I want my DAW (Logic 9) to control the start and stop of the Step Sequencer. I have made the following settings but no joy:

Tempo Sync ON
Rx Start/Stop ON
Transmit MIDI (in Logic) ON

What am I missing please?

You have to enable "send master sync" (or something like that) to S8 somewhere within your DAW

As stated, your DAW needs to send MIDI clock to the JD-XA. You also need to set the JD-XA's sync source

Menu >> System >> Sync/tempo - set to SLAVE

Also set Clock Src to USB or MIDI depending on which input you're sending clock to.
