Some organs sound awful when pitch is changed

Post by Astronautilus »

I notice that some organs (such as D.Bar Org 5) use resonant filters to give extra harmonics. If I transpose to (say) +3 they sound fine, but if I change the pitch in patch edit or performance edit, they sound hideous as I suspect, the Wave(s) are being pitch shifted but not the filters.

I want a permanent pitch-shifted version as I'm inclined to forget I'm transposed during a gig. Any thoughts, workarounds, etc?

My only thought is YEAH! We have to be very careful of our speakers because changing the Cutoff on one of those (organ) sounds where the resonance is being used, as you say, to create extra or beefier harmonics can make some SERIOUSLY TOO LOUD sounds! :)
