Loading samples & SRX expansion patches

Post by Divyx »

Hello there.
I have done recently much research of various synths and i'm planning to buy Fantom-X7 or X8.

Anyway, i haven't ever own a sampling capable keyboard and i wanted to ask a somewhat dumb or something like that question.

1st: When i load sample in to ram, let's say like symphony of voices boy choir and assign them onto keys, ( let's assume i have max sample ram ), i must be able to save that sample/key assign somehow right?, so now i load a different samples on to the ram ( let's again assume that they would be female voices this time) and assign them to the keys again.

Now, when i'm in live and i wan't to switch from the boychoir samples to the female samples, WILL there be any loading times or is it as soon ready as i have pressed "whatever switches the samples" button? So that it would act just like another patch from the X7 / X8?

Hopefully some1 understood this uhm.. question and will give me a quick and trough out answer.

Also tell me your live experiences with this keyboard.
I play metal/heavy/progressive music so i don't use arpeggiators or any shytmic loops.

Thanks in Advance.

If both samples (or sets of samples) are loaded in RAM, the time of switching between the patches will be just as fast as with those patches using ROM/SRX waves.
