Hi folks.
I know part of the learning process for new Fantom owners is to tweek and experiment - how else will one learn the instrument? I have read many posts and will contribute to the forum once I have the knowledge to do so.
Enough of the preamble.
I am trying to figure out the syth sounds for STYX - Too Much Time on my Hands. The beginning and the end are easy to do (with the Fantom) - I just sample them. However, I don't even know where to begin to create the syth sound that accompanies the guitar.
Any hints to getting started with that syth sound would be GREATLY appreciated. I've put several hours into it already and am not at all pleased with the results.
Thanks,
Tony

turn up the filter resonance and modulate the filter with an envelope filter...

Can you give me a hint on how to modulate with an envelope filter?
Thanks in advance.

Whuzzup! I see your question is a little dated, but I'll reply anyway. I relatively new to midi and what not myself, but having read online turtorials and magazines I've learned some stuff about synths....I believe the way that you would modulate the filter with an envelope is to go to the filter envelope and making changes to it's ADSR, that way the filter will simply follow it's new "instructions". Also, you could try assigning LFO's(low frequency oscillators) to the filter which will make it come to life more as well...hope this helps.
