I think i made them with "Preset 1" (888888888).
JC: is it possible to store the Presets as "standalone Performances" (without RPS) for faster access in live mode?

hmm well yes and no,

you can save a preset by manually adjusting the patch level and saving it individually... then adding it to the performance... ie. highlight part 1 patch and hit patch edit, then adjust the levels to the desired amount and save the patch under another name... do the same to the rest of the patches and voila... when you create the new performance with the new patches... it will be set correctly...

by the way this is the single most irritating issue with having to work around it like this.. my personal opinion is that you should be able to edit the patches and then save the performance and the edits should be saved... this would allow you to use a single patch and edit it many times for each performance and leave the patch in its original state rather than having 7 patches that are almost identical but a few changes.. so that you can have 7 different performances.... i beleive that should be do-able..

the B4Real emulator uses approximately 13 polyphony per key give or take a few based on whether percussion, and harmonic leakage is being used, that figures out to about 9 keys can be used without any problem also percussion frees up all notes instantly after the key is struck so it is pretty hard to max out polyphony even if you sit on the suststain. it is possible though, i have not noticed any issues with polyphony in very aggressive playing and have monitored this to some extent before i released version 6
the high polyphony usage is nessesary to create the harmonic resonance that gives the emulator the accuracy comparable to the VK8M and Native instruments B4.

there are no organ samples used the entire emulator uses 3 of the stock waves from the Fantom the sine,harmonic leakage, and key click.

I am working on a registration bank of about 20 popular settings that will be assignable to the 4 preset pads,

there are a few reasons for creating the emulator.

#1 all the stock organs sound dull and uninspired
#2 everyone complaining about the stock organ patches
#3 i did not want to buy an expensive SRX just for a good B3 organ
#4 i tried samples and no matter what i did they just did not give me what I wanted


i did some research and found out that samples cannot duplicate the quality of sonic harmonic resonance and since that is the one quality that gives the B3 its desireability i started trying to duplicate it...

the thing that is so desireable that gives a B3 the incredible growl,the shrill scream, the thunderous bass lines and the amazing Glissandos is harmonic disonance and resonance (by playing two tones at different harmonic intervals you achieve either resonance (an increase in amplitude and tonal characheristic that is pleasing) or dissonance (a increase or decrease in amplitude with tonal characteristics that create tension or are slightly displeasing)

B4 Real has been compared to Native instruments B4 and to the VK8M and has has been named as a very competitive alternative to the 299, and 700 price tags.

I have the XR with an A50 controller.
Will the sliders on the A50 regulate the drawbars?

i beleive that you could attempt it all you need is the proper cc and midi channel..

i would say that if the A-50 will send sysex then all you need are the the sysex messages and control change scheme and you can set up presets that will work great and are adjustable. I am currently working on a set of presets for current users.

Okay, I just found this forum and I am thrilled! I have a Roland 300SX stage piano for an 88 weighted key piano. However I am dying to find a realiztic B3 sound. And I have been wanting a second keyboard that can be both a synth and ideally, a B3.

Now I've found that you've created an amazing B3 sound for the Fantom. This may be the tipping point that gives me my amswer. So.. with all that (thanks for putting up with me)..

What Fantoms will this work on? I am still paying off my 300sx. but I may have to add a fantom to the bill.

Does using the B4 emulator prevent me from using the Fantom for anything else? Does it disable or limit the ability to use it as a synth in the next song if I play song # 1 that requires a B3?

The latest version 6.1 comes with a host of options that are entirely playable!

The actual Emulator is a .SVQ (roland song file) that loads all the patches and presets that are stored in the pads (along with other options)

The emulator is the most accurate of the B4REAL bunch

it includes

9 Drawbars
Vibrato on/off
Leslie on/off/fast/slow
Percussion on/off/attack/decay/monophonic/polyphonic
Configurable registrations and 4 presets
Distortion on/off
Flanger on/off
Authentic harmonic fold back on all drawbars
2nd and 3rd harmonic selectable for percussion with moderate volume control
Harmonic leakage fully adjustable

I have just added a great collection of patches that are based on the same synthesis as the Emulator they lack the more robust features of the emulator but are great as solo or layered instruments. beleive me these guys will cut through a mix!! they are really sharp and clear!

I have also included a sampled version of the emulator for guys that like samples....

the emulator works best on the s/x workstations the xr and Xa are untested

there are no limitations using the B4Real emulator it loads and unloads like a song, but be warned it takes up a whopping 6 layers in a performance!!!

this emulator has been compared to native instruments b4 and the roland vk8m and comes out very competitive! I have absolutely no complaints from my userbase and provide regular updates as i develop new features and tweak the UI
