Hi everyone, as you probably know my job is my Bon Jovi Tribute Band, i pretty much have created ALL the sounds for all the Jovi tracks my band plays using my Fantom X8 and Motif ES7
But wondered if anyone had ANY patches or Performances they have created they`d like to share? if they play any?
chances are they are probably better than mine, lol
the particular sounds i`m looking for are for the following songs
and if possible all sounds for ALL keyboard parts on each track
some of the sounds on each of these tracks are very difficult to copy, especially the intro of "i`d die for you" and the HUGE thick layered whatever sound it is before the singing comes in on "Living on a Prayer" know the bit i mean?
where he plays the C to D to E chords... i have tryed very hard to get most of these sounds on my X8, but I am even thinking of selling my MOTIF ES7 and buying something else like a Korg Triton Extreme, i only played it in the shop for about an hour and chose the ES7 at the time, im bored with it now, lol
anyway heres the tracks im trying to create
1:YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME
2: LIVING ON A PRAYER
3: ITS MY LIFE
4: I`D DIE FOR YOU
5: NEVER SAY GOODBYE
6: LIVING IN SIN
7: LET IT ROCK
8: BLOOD ON BLOOD
9: BED OF ROSES

Any luck?
Wayne:
Almost a year from the date of your post I have the same request. Any patches for the first 3 Bon Jovi songs you list plus "Have a Nice Day" that you'd be willing to send to a new, struggling X8 owner? I hope to help other users (and maybe even you) some day with patches but right now I am trying to figure this thing out.
Thanks in advance,
Tony

Re: Anyone created ANY Bon Jovi sounds?
You need an analog synthesizer. Post your question on Harmony central forum. Someone will pitch in.
Jovi sounds.
Re-igniting an old thread... I'm also a big Jovi fan and although still learning my way around the Fantom would be happy to try and help/swap sound ideas for different tracks with any others trying to capture sounds for specific songs, I'm at w.g.hamilton@gmail.com
As a polite request tho, any chance you could remove that little ad of yours from the end of every single post you stick up around the net, Waynester? by all means keep the website addresses or use a corruption of the band's name, but as you aren't sticking it in as a sig, anyone searching for any keyboard jovi info is met with x hundred posts from you on a variety of keyboard topics quite unrelated to Jovi... which is beyond frustrating after a while.
Cheers.

Really no offence but somedays i really wonder about this world.I think most bon jovo spunds are the result of turning on any rol;and synth and using the presets ?seriously thats about it.Pick the keyboard by roland or korg that was out at the time of the track in question and turn it on !

Re: Anyone created ANY Bon Jovi sounds?
Many moons ago, when I was playing out, we also did Living On A Prayer, and I just used some basic string patches from my SQ-80 layers with some light bells. If your refering to the ooga-ooga part at the beginning, I always thought it sounded like a vocal processor. I think we just left that out. It's been soooo long, and I lost my "Way Back Machine".

Cheers for that, Carl. The vocal sound you are describing is a talkbox, it's a pretty neat bit of kit the guitarist uses, and we're lucky enough that the guy in our band has one.
Thanks also for the input of your trained ear jachin, Though David Bryan has really only used Yamahas for a good long while now. I wouldn't say that it was a case of jus switching on a board and using the presets. There's quite a lot going on in some of his sounds... less so when he's playing live, but as a newbie to all this I enjoy the challenge of trying to get as close as possible.
The intro to Bad Name is a bit of a git though so any ideas on that one would be well received! ... probably better than the hash of stuff I've thrown together!
thanks
