Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum, but not to the world of synthesizers. After 10 years, I invested again in hardware synths and the JD-XA is one of them!
I used to make soundbanks for Access Virus and Kurzweil and many vst synths (as Pschelfh), so the sound creation possibilities on the JD-XA are a dream come true.
The factory sounds don't really suit my needs (maybe I'm just getting old?), so after 2 weeks I made this soundbank of 16 oldskool synthsounds for my own projects.
Enjoy!

Welcome to the Clan - and thanks for your generous first post gift! I look forward to giving them a blast later today.
Re: JD-XA oldskool soundbank
Just gave it a try - nice sound selection! It's a bread and butter selection of pads, bass synths, and a nice piano tone which uses the analog section to bulster to high glisten. I thought Dreamer was a bit overdriven, but easy to tone it down in a few seconds.
I like how a lot of them use the same sequence to preview, so you can get a proper opinion of the difference of tonality between the sounds. Thanks for the patches!

Re: JD-XA oldskool soundbank
Thanks for the kind words!
Sadly, it was a short visit... After using the JD-XA some more, I came to the conlusion that there was still quite some menu diving if you want to make your own sounds that go a bit deeper, very frustrating with the small display.
I do very much like the concept of combining analog or va with samples, so I decided to sell the JD-XA and get a Prophet X (and also a Waldorf Quantum and a Solaris, but that's another story...).
Best,
Peter.

Re: JD-XA oldskool soundbank
Seems I was a bit too quick...
I received the Prophet X and after playing for a while and making some sounds, I came to the conclusion that the JD-XA is quite unique and unable to replicate on the Prophet X.
The JD-XA sounds smoother and more synth-like, even when using the internal samles. Prophet X sounds more like a rompler (like Yamaha MODX) with a subtractive synth added, but It seems more difficult to combine the 2.
So I decided to keep both!
