That is pretty strange.
Seems like Roland would make a 49 or 61 note keyboard synthesizer to run plugouts.
Why would they bother to make 25 keys for polyphonic synths that have 6 or more voices?

Something like a mini System-1 without extra plugout but with a "ACB" synth inside + seq?
Actually sounds like a good idea, but 25 mini keys=not much space for knobs.

Hey I'd love a little juno 106 on my desk. Of corse I already have an arturia keylab and the jupiter 8V and tal Uno plugins so if these aren't cheap, tiny, and one knob per function I don't see a point...

Plus I'm hoping they look like the original. I don't want a system 1 that sounds like a juno lol.

Haha right? I love my roland gear but like, what the heck are they doing lately? I wish they would just provide better support for existing products rather than keep cranking out new ones. The system one seems to be a shot at that, maybe it didn't sell enough to work for them.

The axial releases and updates for the Integra 7 have been decent, I'm happy there, though I wouldn't mind if there were bimonthly releases.
I'm upset with the VS-700 being totally dropped from Windows 10...

I'm not a business guy at all. I wonder if Roland could sell existing products better if they worked more on continued marketing? Like if they had ongoing series about how artists are using their products with interviews and live streams. That would be cheaper than building a whole new synth twice a year right? Nothing gets me excited about new gear like having a whole bunch of videos to watch, especially if artists I liked were talking about how they use it!

My post feels scatter brained. Overall I'm not unhappy that Roland is doing what Roland does - making music equipment. I'm a little confused that's all.
