HEY!!!!!
Yeah, I'm back. Loving the SH02 PLUGOUT sounds but still have two problems.
I can drop the sound banks from the VST host into the System 1 with no problem but....
1.) The System 1 does NOT access the SH02 program that is displayed, no keyboard strikes or knob turns but
does play the presets alright. I can adjust the knobs via the laptop mouse but not the System 1.
2.) Every time I turn off the System 1, it looses the PLUGOUT. This is not a big problem as I can reinstall it
when I power back on but it would be nice to have it always within the PlugOut mode of the System 1
Any suggestions?
Picked up three of the Boutique modules in the meantime so my sonic palette is growing!!!! Now all I need is to get a band together!!!!

Re: access presets on System 1
Hmm. .....if your computer isn't recognizing the keystrokes and knob-turns then your System 1 is not connected properly. You'll have to figure that out. Make sure you read my earlier posts about assigning MIDI in your host.
You'll have to sort that out first, because you can't plug-out your SH02 unless the System 1 is connected. Please look over the connection steps I wrote earlier to see what step you're missing....

Yeah, I'm back.
Reviewed and followed all your directions regarding the Device and File options and in all I've selected System 1.
The System 1 keystrokes DO NOT show on the SH01 plug out screen; ALTHOUGH the sounds and presets DO functions....so I can play the Plug Out with the System 1.
However, every time I power up, I have to reinstall the PLUG OUT into the System 1. The System 1 is connected via USB and the install takes seconds so it is not a truly big deal. Additionally, when installing the PLUG OUT, a screen appears that states to "check your connections." I simply unplug the USB from the laptop and re-plug it and I'm good to go. I always recheck the MENU items regarding Midi and Wave and it always says System 1.
Is there a function ON the System 1 I need to address? I remember trying to use the System 1 as a Midi controller and it not working. Is there a MIDI setting I need to set ON the System 1?
Again this is all not a big deal as the install takes no time and everything functions properly to play the SH01 sounds.
Having just picked up the Boutique SH01A, I'm learning a great deal about the sound structure of the SH01, so that's a lot of fun.
Truly grateful for any advice!
ONE DAY I'll learn all this! Wish there were a local facility to learn this but for now I must rely on the internet....and YOU, Chiclets!!!!!!

Re: access presets on System 1
If you press the keys on the system 1 keyboard, does the SH01 plug-out "sound" from your computer? If not, your System 1 is not connected properly.
If the Plug -out "sounds", or responds , then everything should work. I'm having trouble undrstanding your post...

Re: access presets on System 1
OK, so here's my routine. Get into the studio (AKA the garage) and power up. I turn on and set up the VST host on the laptop. I check MIDI and WAVES and it always shows "SYSTEM 1" (should it say "SYSTEM 1 Control"?).
The System 1 is connected to the laptop via USB. I turn on the System 1 and it does NOT access the PLUG OUT.
I hit the PLUG OUT on the SH01 and a pop up comes up and says "not connected, check your connections.". I simply unplug the USB from the laptop, plug it back in and re-hit PLUG OUT. The data transfer takes seconds and I am able to use the Plug Out button on the System 1. All presets and accessible from the VST host and all present sounds can be played from the System 1 keyboard. BUT, the keystrokes do not show on the SH01 keypad. Nor does using the System 1 knobs and controls access the VI layout. I CAN use the mouse pad to control the presets and knobs on the VI SH01. So, am I missing a set up on the System 1 itself? Is there a MIDI parameter I am not setting?
Since I do this every time I power on, it is NOT a big deal. The data transfer is seconds and always works. Accessing the SH01 controls from the mouse pad is not a problem....I'd just like to have keyboard control from the System 1.
Any thoughts?
Have I explained the problem enough?
Thanks as always!

Re: access presets on System 1
That is so unusual - I'm at a loss.
if you are playing the System 1 keyboard (and the sound of the SH Plug out is coming out of the speakers) then we know the USB cable is working. It is taking you physically playing the keyboard and making the SH sound.
But, at the same time, you are not seeing any graphic changes on your screen, nor are you able to operate the knobs and sliders. Something is wrong! Also, when you press" Plug-Out" it is supposed to send the plug out to your System 1.
Do you know how to use the Plug out on your System 1 once you've disconnected it? (You have to press and hold the button "Plug Out", then press one of the flashing bank numbers ("1 to 8"), then press a patch number ("1 to 8")
I wonder if you should try a different USB cable? That's about all I can offer. It sounds like it's partially working, but I have never heard of this kind of problem....

Hey!
Thanks for always answering my dilemmas!!!!!
Don't it figure?!!!! I've finally baffled you! LOL!
OK, I'll switch out the USB cable and see if that helps.
If not, as I've said, re-loading the SH01 is no big deal and I can live with accessing controls via the mouse pad.
After all, music is NOT the hardware/software....but what you CREATE with it!
On to new songs, compositions and just general HAVING FUN!!!!!
Thanks again!
