I loaded an instrument on the CC (Crash Cymbal) and i applied effects, now if i want to load another instrument i can barely hear the sound because of the previous effects I applied. How can i remove all effects so that i can i can hear my new instrument?
It's very annoying, even with the editor i couldn't figure it out.
update: I have noticed that my problem is only with PCM types, I can clearly hear FM and ACB
thanks.
how to remove all effects from an instrument
Re: how to remove all effects from an instrument
I noticed that, clearing track, reloading kit or instrument doesn't remove the effects i applied. So basically my pattern cannot be used anymore. I didn't find any documentation on this.
I don't believe that's it, i guess I'm doing something terribly wrong.
If this is the case, do i need to factory reset my tr8s, to start clean?
Not sure if anyone faced the same problem, I'm interested to know how you handle it.
Thanks.
Sam

Re: how to remove all effects from an instrument
I haven't come across this, but I would suggest you check all the INST settings (using SHIFT-INST) like tune, decay, level etc and see if they need adjusting.
Re: how to remove all effects from an instrument
Hi,
thank you for the reply.
I need to know what were the default so i can just adjust as there is no option to reset.
I realized that what i did, after tuning some parameters, I pressed on "Shift" "Write" I guess (i'm not next to my TR-8S right now, so i forgot the exact buttons), which saves the pattern and Kit.
it seems that settings applied on instruments are saved back to the kit, that's why I can't get rid off.
makes sense?
thanks.

Re: how to remove all effects from an instrument
Yes it makes sense but I don't think there's a default as such - each kit has different settings.
I would try something like:
Tune 0
Decay 255
Level 255
Gain 0.0dB
Pan CENTER
ReverbSend 0
DelaySend 0
Also turn the kit's MASTER FX Sw to OFF
If that doesn't work I would think you have a fault somewhere.

Re: how to remove all effects from an instrument
cool, I will try today, and i will save the kit again.
I didn't expect that these config will be saved to the kit but seems like it.
thanks.

Re: how to remove all effects from an instrument
You're welcome, let us know how you get on.
It would probably be a good idea to set INST FX Type to THRU as well (in fact maybe try that first).
All the INST and INST FX settings are saved as part of the kit.

Re: how to remove all effects from an instrument
THRU alone didn't fix it, the main parameter that was the problem is "Flt Env" when i set it back to 0, the instrument sound is back.
I guess I was carried away changing filters, I wish there was a reset filter parameter on the instrument back to factory settings.
thank you.

Glad you got it sorted!
