I record entire songs to use as reference tracks during practice and starting from the beginning sucks.
Is there a way to fast forward? even in the edit screen if need be.

You could chop the sample and then lay the chops out in series in the sequencer. Then you'd have all the benefits of the sequencer, such as transport controls and being able to loop sections for practice. I've done this by hand on other devices (1010 Music Blackbox) though not on the FA. I acknowledge that this might be more effort than you want to get into, but I understand that there are software tools that make automatic chopping at fixed intervals (even at bar intervals) very simple.

in the edit screen of sample set the start/end points where u want them, then audition sound. wen u hit the pad it plays from the start/end points only
