How to save TFX when saving a tone?

Post by mexicanpoop »

I am trying to save a tone on my FA-08 that also has one of the TFX selected. I've tried saving the tone multiple times and each time the TFX portion is the only thing that doesn't get saved. Is there any way to save it/quickly apply it to my tone so I can access it live? Thanks

Hey mexicanpoop,

As far as I know there isn't any way to save the TFX to a tone on the FA... if you can use an MFX then you can save that to the tone specifically and have it recall when you load the sound.

TFX parameters are only saved in a studioset. If you use a modified tone and specific TFX settings you have to save both, tone and studioset. To recall the setup just select the saved studioset, it will also load the user tone.

Hi, I'm a new FA User, and it seems impossible to save a TFX effect, even with a studio set....
When I change the TFX effect in another studio set, it changes for every other studio set, it seems to be a global setting.....any idea ?

The TXF is an effect that is applied to the entire keyboard and is not associated to the tone or Studio Set. You have to select it manually when you need it. You can assign to turn it on or off using the S1/S2 switches or the D-Beam.
The only effect associated to the tone is the MFX. Then if you don't use the Studio Set compressor, you can assign an IFX to the various tones wihtin the Studio Set. The parameters of the IFX are saved in the SS and you can decide with a on/off option in the Effects Screen, to assign it to the tones or not. The parameters of the IFX would be the same for all the tones you have chosen to be on. The only thing you can adjust per tone is the amount of the IFX that you send to the SS Chorus and Reverb. Refer to p52 of the reference manual for details...
