Controlling FA from Another Midi Synth

Post by flowerkings »

Im trying to control th FA from a korg Kronos. Everything works fine but I can't get the sliders and knobs to control things like pan and volume. This works great with any synth but the FA. Is their a setting on the FA end that needs to be set somehow to let the Kronos control the FA. Midi is working fine beside this.

Not sure but I'd start by checking the settings on the MENU/ System / MIDI page. Relevant ones might be:
"Studio Set Control Channel"
"Receive Exclusive"

Then I'd visit Part View / MIDI Rx Filter page and make sure it's set to receive everything you want.

Though I would expect the defaults would be what you want in most cases, so this is probably not the problem.

Sorry I don't have another keyboard to actually try this.

Flowerkings, if you assign regular midi controller to the kronos fader (let's say CC10 PANPOT or CC7 VOLUME), then FA should be able to work with it. This independent from sysex.

Kronos (which I currently don't know) must be able to assign 1) midi channel and 2) midi CC# to a fader or pot.
Check midi channel routing (same channel on kronos and FA?) and like ayryq mentioned, the midi filter settings.
But basically on the actual midi channel you're using from kronos sending midi to a track on the FA, where this midi channel is assigned to, should work.
